Great color for night stripers even got a few fluke at night.

I have cached many barracudas with this lure, it's very shiny and swims nice, the only reason I give it 4 stars is the cast distance, it does not have a long cast mechanism, so it doesn't cast so well, I'm always fishing inshore so casting distance is important for me.

You get a daiwa sp minnow, its a high quality lure thats worth the money.However the image shows a lure that is bright and vibrant and appears metallic and what you get is a darker muted color.Still solid and ill keep it but isn't exactly what I was looking for.

Would be a 5. But you need to change out split rings and hooks - out of box hardware is too weak and will be straightened out by even reasonably sized fish

If you're considering the SP minnow, then you've seen all the vids and read reviews on how great this lure is for stripers. No issues here either, just wanted to share my experience. I fished it on a windy day and the 1 1/4oz. 6" minnow was too light to cast far. The wind pretty much blocked the long 6" body for the cast to be effective. Consider getting a heavier SP on windy days or switch to another heavier lure.
