The largest rasp whipped through solid oak like a hot knife through butter and shaping of oak handles was effortless using this. Smoothing and fine tuning of the shape was then easily achieved using the assorted files in the set. The roll they come packaged in for storage seems adequate for the job and will do nicely for sitting on a shelf until used next. Handles are comfortable for sustained use and the metal used for the files themselves appears strong and wear resistant. I haven't used them for long but so far they seem like they will last.
