I bought this because my other plantronic headset was giving out. This one is a night and day difference. Easy to set up. I work from home and I say I am not stuck to one room or area. Excellent range and ease switching out the battery without losing a call.

After 13 years, my Savi 445 is giving up the ghost. The 8245 is replacing it. I've only been using it about a week. I'm finding it interfaces better with my work programs. Features are the same. Have always liked the lightweight unit and the ability to change wearing stiles. Sound quality remains the same. However the battery life isn't as long as it was with the 445. I don't think the quality of the 8245 unit is quite as good as the 445. Will miss the 445, but the 8245 appears to suffice

I have been using Plantronics headsets for over 20 years and also a fan over the over the ear hook method. I have a Savi W7whatever that I bought it 2016ish and use daily still to this day. I have now been ordered to start coming into a new office my company started in the city I reside in however their available offerings for headsets was terrible and the Savi I have is not really portable. Looks like Poly, the new parent company is phasing most of these out for whatever reason so they have been somewhat harder to find. Lo and behold I was able to find the 8245 UC on Amazon which allows you to use it as a stationary desk unit or portable with a PC only connection. I really have no need for using its a desk model or connecting to anything but the PC but where it shines is that is comes with a carrying case, a small charging cradle and supports the second battery charging on the same cradle. I simply keep this one in my bag and use for the days I have to be in the office. My co-workers have not noticed any changes in voice quality between the older unit and I can walk around the floor and still listen and talk unlike the bluetooth units I have tried. My primary integration with it is using Teams. I connect the USB adapter to a dongle that also connects my Logitech Unifying receiver and have not had any issues with that combo.They have an A plus device here so it would be a shame if / when it's discontinued.

I bought these to replace the same as I broke them closing a drawer. Great range and voice clarity. I can go get the mail and continue having a conversation. Highly recommended. I use a Kuando Busylight so family knows when I am on the phone, just a suggestion.

The older version W745-M has the absolute best quality, and an extra battery in the stand. The quality of this updated version is so NOT even close. Please reconsider when buying this headset.
