Great all around scooter with price/quality ratio hard to beat
Great Scooter ! Great price and quality ratio ! I have modified my Lancer to improve hill climbing as I live in a hilly section of the Ohio Valley. My scooter will go over the posted limit of 55 mph. My mods are 11.6 Gram sliders, iridium plug, racing cdi box, 30mm carb jetted with 140 main jet 36, idle jet, Hoca manual choke, ported head with performance aluminum intake with homemade velocity stack, gutted muffler and uni filter. It will go 65+ mph but I have no need to go that fast but it is nice that this scooter is quite capable. Handles curves well at moderate speeds but does have a bit of wobble at higher than posted speeds in curves. Other than that great all around scooter that a lot of people do notice. ABS Brakes on front as well. * Update * 5700 km on my TaoTao Lancer 150 I set the valves once and it still starts first try ! Still Super Fast 73.6 mph radar verified ! Thanks KSP ! I am getting a new back tire put on ! Great scooter you have to keep the maintenance up. I run royal purple oils, only run premium gas, replaced NGK plug, bigger fuel filter and better hoses after 5000 km no problems at all ! Could use better clear coat on plastic but that is very minor issue ! * Update * Other than clear coat peeling no major issues other than new battery and rear tire. Motor still going strong and starts first try. Make sure to get the valve set correctly if you start to have hard starts. Over 7000 on the odometer now.

Unboxing was easy, There was two of us but the process ...
This is my third scooter, My first a 50, my second a used 150. This one here is my first brand new one. Unboxing was easy, There was two of us but the process was easy enough that one person can do it. It comes on a palet, Bolted in key places to a metal box frame to ensure it doesnt slide around. The process didnt take long, Close to an hour to get it off the pallet and removed from the metal frame. From there its a matter of putting together the front end, The forks on mine were already in place, Only had to asymble the front tire and the fairings (The plastic bits). Aside from that, Had to put the battery together (Didnt come with the acid stuff). Mount the headlights / front fairing and she was more or less good to go! Once its all together only had to start it up, Letting it run for 20 - 30 minutes before draining the "Shipping oil". Okay for t hose who dont know, When you buy anything motorized it comes packed with Shipping oil inside the engine. It can be run with this but its like, Super thin and can be hazardous to actually ride with this in your bike, Anywho, We drained the packing oil (Make sure you shut it off!) put our favorite 10 - w40 in, Changed the gear oil and went for a ride. The bike is awesome. First 100 miles never took it over 35mph. This is your break in period. Just did the first official oil change at 128 miles and now she purrs like a kitten all the way up to 50mph. It should be noted, These scooters are not a fan of cold weather! While they run great they can be a pain to get started when its cold out (Talkin 40 and below). Long story short, Mine can now easily go up to 50 - 55. Once she reaches 300 and is due for the next oil change and once over again, I plan on pushing her a little more. Would definately buy again, Consider this an entry into the motorcycle world.

WHERE IS REALITY TV WHEN YOU NEED IT.................
Let me start saying this bike is "DROP DEAD WAY TOO COOL" I have been riding from the age of 8 years old, I have owned some of the most sought after motorcycles in history. (anybody remember the "WIDOW MAKER") I've traveled extensively, I have found scooters just about every country i've been in. Usually vespas or 49cc imports. None have come close to performance and style of this. Unpacking it is harder than assembling it. But if you are not mechanically inclined, get someone that is. I ordered a performance ignition system, upgraded carb & air filtratration, and sturdier intake manifold. Total cost ? Under $100, Now a 45/50 MPH scoot touched 60 easy, Just remember it is a scooter, NOT A CROTCH ROCKET. i Maintain it properly, Use it for what it's built for and you will have no problems yet tons of fun and extra money ,(fill the tank it seems to run forever) It is a very simple yet head turning scoot. My personal story with ordering it rates reality tv, that story is for another time. MOTO PRO has been exceptional. GREAT BIKE, A LOT OF FUN, EXCEPTIONAL PRICE. (did i mention, I am physically Disabled) No Joke !!!

A crazy insane price for a possibly reliable moped/scooter.
I chose to go with the TaoTao lancer 150 because of hours of research and review reading- I convinced myself that if I put the work into it I could maintain a reliable scooter for an insanely affordable price. I received the scooter yesterday- on time and as told, and began assembling myself. Assembly was fairly easy with help from youtube. I reccomend you use your own tools and have an extra person to help. The average joe should be able to assemble this scooter-ready to ride in 3-4 hours. As far as the appearance of the scooter- looks just as it does in the picture. Quality- as expected for 1000 dollars- most of the scooter exterior is hard plastic but if you want to something more solid you're gonna need to spend 2000-3000 dollars- and I didn't have that. Performance- so far, the scooter is great! It runs great and accelerates quickly. Starts just fine and all the lights work. I will change the gear and engine oil within the first 300 miles, since the shipping oil is garbage. I weigh 240 lbs and I have accelerated to 40mph already. I'm not going to push the limits, but this is a great scooter, so far, and if you're looking for something to get around town or something just for fun I would recommend this scooter. I will update again soon.

... miles on this scooter but so far I'm not disappointed. Starts quickly and runs very well
I only have about 250 miles on this scooter but so far I'm not disappointed. Starts quickly and runs very well. This came in a metal frame on a wooden pallet. I put it together alone but I would recommend at least two people do it. The front wheel has to be installed and I caused some slight damage to the threads on the bolt that fastens it to the forks. I have forgotten how much it weighs but it is hard for one person to remove it from the metal shipping frame. There are no written assembly instructions. I was almost finished with the assembly before I realized the assembly instructions were on a DVD. The only real problem I had was putting on the headlight assembly. Incredibly aggravating. The screws are too short and the metal clips fall off. I finally got it in place and you probably wouldn't notice but it still isn't exactly right. You need a modest tool set and some experience doing this kind of stuff, otherwise I would suggest you get some help. One more thing. There is a small creek behind my house and the scooter wound up in it, completely submerged. I couldn't get it running again and could not find anyone in Chattanooga or Huntsville that would work on it. I finally found a place in Rome, Ga about 65 miles away. They got it running again ($190) but when I got it home the turn signals stopped working. I took it to a local shop that works on mowers, 4-wheelers and anything like that (jet-ski, etc). He has had it about a month trying to get a flasher for it. Talked to him today and he is still waiting on the flasher to come. So, I can say it is a good scooter as long as you don't submerge it in water!

JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK!
BIGGEST hunk of JUNK ever to be made! What a RIP OFF! Stopped working the FIRST TIME I started it up and got gas in it. Company will not take it back so buyer beware! After LOTS of time and energy on my part the scooter ran for about 30 total miles off and on. Now, it will NOT start again and I am at my wits end. I'll sell it for scrap to try and get a little bit of my money back. JUNK JUNK JUNK! Do not buy one of these...the savings is NOT worth it!

Good unit for the price, Be prepared to do some work to get from delivery to riding.
Needs better assembly instructions. Speedometer and odometer are in metric. Assembly is tedious without good assembly instructions. On a positive note once it is assembled it is a fun bike to ride. Beware in New Hampshire it is considered a motorcycle requiring a motorcycle licence registration and yearly inspection. The panels have fitment issues. The owners manual is in small print.
