PERFECT FOR PICKY BUNNIES
I used to just get hay at the pet store for my rabbits, but they've always been picky about hay and never liked it when it was hard, green, and stiff. They will throw more than half of it in their litter box and we just throw it away when I have to give them that. I used to get it soft like 2nd-3rd cut half the time, and half the time it was the hard green stuff but recently, they stopped selling anything else aside from first cut it seems. The brand I bought didn't sell other cuts, so I don't know what happened or why the hay just stopped being soft ever, but it became a real problem, because I was spending a lot of money on hay, and my bunnies wouldn't even eat the majority of it. I was a little worried when I read the reviews and saw that a lot of people said the larger sizes weren't any good, because I definitely needed a larger size, but for the price I figured it was still worth it to try. I paid the same amount for 20 lbs of this that I would spend on 5lbs of the hay they don't eat. It was perfect! There were a couple little weeds in it but nothing that effected the overall quality or was bothersome. First cut is always a little dusty, but again, not a problem. They now eat ALL of their hay, and I'm getting way more for way less money! Everyone wins! I wish they would sell it in stores, but I'll definitely continue to buy this from now on. Even if I do get a bad batch here and there it's worth it for the reasonable cost and nice quality of the hay. And another plus, I don't have to wear gloves to feed them anymore either! The other hard green hay used to actually cut my hands up. My hands are sensitive. I always had to wear gloves. This is so soft, it doesn't poke in the slightest. If you have picky hay-eaters, I would highly recommend this, and I know my rabbits would too!

Great for picky Chinchillas!
Great for a picky chinchilla. We used to get normal hay from the pet store, but he'd just throw 50% of it around his cage and use it like a litter pile. He eats all of this hay with no issue, very worthwhile and should last at least a month. It's softer on the hands than the normal hay aswell, and smells quite fresh.

Fantastic Senior Bunny Hay!
My elderly Holland Lop, Chumley, recently lost his bond mate this year. As he is getting older and was never one to eat hay except socially I was worried about his health. Only pellets was not going to be a lasting solution, and he was chewing on fine straw particles to get his roughage. When I offered him this, even with his occasionally sore mouth (yes he gets regular vet care) he will happily sit in the sunshine and munch again. Anything that makes his golden years pleasant for him is fantastic in my book. The quality is always there, the hay is soft, green, and easy for him to eat. It's not for healthy young rabbits - 3rd cutting is a treat or best for older or in some way impaired bunnies and I am endlessly grateful I can get it for my old man.

brown colored hard stick hay far from the 3rd cutting soft hay i ordered
I never leave reviews for the hay i buy but i think its time for one. I've had 4 guinea pigs for over 5+ years and i've tried all types of hay from many websites/retail stores. When the hay is good (good quality) this is a very good buy but when the hay is bad (bad batch) guinea pigs wont touch this. This is bad quality hay that i recieved today. I pray whoever is new to owning/having guinea pigs knows the difference between green hay and brown hay and that guinea pigs should not be fed brown colored hay. It's the equivalent of a rotten apple or tomotoe at the store which you would never eat or give to a friend/relative unless you wanted to get sick. Guinea pig hay should always be green. you will never find me giving my guinea pigs brown hay like this. Also this is 3rd cutting which was supposed to be leafy and soft but its like sticks. The difference between actually leafy hay and the stick kind is that leafy hay is extremely soft and flexible. The stick type is very hard and you can barely bend it. I've grabbed stick hay before and it hurt my hand (while cleaning) and i wonder if guinea pigs ever get hurt touching this either with thier feet/body etc....anyway... I have ordered 3rd cutting hay in the past and for the most part i did get soft leafy green hay which my guinea pigs love. But this is whats referred to as a bad batch.

My Sulcata Tortoise loves this stuff
My Sulcata Tortoise is quite picky. There's a feed store nearby where I've purchased hay in the past, but he doesn't really like it. There is natural grass outside that he eats, but it dries up by summer. Grass/hay should be 90% of their diet so I am glad he relishes this stuff. He goes through a big pile of it every day. This hay is a little more expensive, obviously, but it's worth it. I will continue to buy it as long as it's available.

BUN'S CHOICE
We have five rabbits and four of them vote this "Tastiest Timothy Hay Yet". We have purchased full bales of Timothy and they eat it...but they absolutely devour this. We have tried 2nd cutting, 1st cutting boxes. We have tried bagged hays of various sorts. For daily feeding, this is our #1 go to. Not the cheapest, but it seems to entice rabbits to eat more hay. Looks green and smells fresh, as hay ought. Oh, rabbits #5 agrees this hay is good, but suggests any hay needs some fresh dandelions or rose petals thrown on top if she's to get excited about it.

Excellent product
My rabbit has never liked any of the different hay that I've given her and my vet said she has to eat hay and she recommended small pet select 3rd cut cus it's better hay and it's softer and I bought some and she's actually eating the hay lol. She doesn't eat as much hay as I would like her to eat cus she grew up only eating organic veggies and a little bit of fruit here and there but she's finally eating some hay and seems to like it so yes I definitely recommend this hay but it needs to be 3rd cut.

My sweet boy is a little picky when it comes to his hay, this is his first time trying 3rd cutting and it seems like a hit.

Soft, green hay, loved by my rabbit.
Very soft hay. Rabbit loves it. Now prefers this to first cut which is more ‘spikey’ although he still likes the seed heads. Although he doesn’t have teeth problems, he is getting older.

My bunny and I are so happy to see Amazon sell this brand of Timothy hay ...
My bunny and I are so happy to see Amazon sell this brand of Timothy hay again. I used to buy the Oxbow brand when I couldn't get a hold of hay from this company anymore, but the Oxbow hay has become such low quality nowadays that my rabbit refused to eat it. But this hay he totally loves!! Thanks Amazon for bringing back this brand of hay again! About the hay, it truly is a super soft hay but since it's lower in fiber I combine it with the 2nd cut hay also from Small Pet Select. Both hay types from SPS is of good quality with long strands of hay that feels and smells very fresh compared to Oxbow hay.

Best product for old/sick/picky animals Meilleur foin pour les animaux malades/vieux/exigeants
Ma guinea pig was sick and wouldn't eat. We gave her Critical Care but were fearing that she would have a tooth problem from not eating hay. This hay is a miracle. Very soft, it was easy to eat despite the pain she was in. The best quality out there, everything will be eaten, no waste.

Quality of product is Unreliable
Very disappointed with the quality of the hay received this time. Most of the hay are yellowish/brownish, the green parts are not very fresh, and 1/3 of the box is filled with small pieces and grass dust!
