I believe that a true measure of a good educator is the ability to keep you interested in any subject at all and teach you something without you even realizing that you just learned it. Professor Brian Cox is one of those people. His sheer delight in talking about things is contagious.

A great book....
I bought this book on an impulse after watching and falling in love with the BBC series on TV. This book, "Wonders of the Solar System," has beautiful imagery, well-designed page layout, easy-to-understand graphics, and an overall high quality. Granted, I bought this book in part due to its graphic design, as this is my profession, but I also bought it to help me better understand space for an exhibit I am working on. The explanations are clear and concise, and the content is written in a way that doesn't require an astronomy degree.

If your inner geek is crying to learn more about the planets (mainly) then this is the book for you. You can tell the author lives for astronomy and I loved how he was able to relate landscapes on the other planets to what we have on Earth. By the end of the book, though, I found the reading a bit dry. What a fount of info on our solar system!

Carl Sagan's torch in good hands
One of the best memories I keep dearly from the end of my childhood (I was about twelve) is waking up early on Sunday mornings to watch Carl Sagan's Cosmos (it was not a primetime show where I used to live by that time...). I also keep a copy of the series book. I didn't end up being a scientist but still have the same awe with everything related to the subject. Not long ago, a friend sent me a link to a video of Professor Brian Cox talking about the Higgs particle, the LHC and so on, and I knew that a new great teacher for the new generations (fortunately my daughter's) had taken over.Great book. Great series.

Humbling!
It doesn't matter who or what we are, it doesn't matter who or what we THINK we are...We are ALL "just" humans, who for the briefest moment in history are borrowing this very special, beautiful, complex and fragile place we call home, Planet Earth 🌍There are very important lessons to be learned from these pages!

Unavoidable
Amazing, wonderfull, full of interesting details, charts, facts. Those of you who did not see the BBC series this is a must to read, browse, or just watching pictures. Though, if you just watched, I am sure you would start reading. In-depth information for anybody interested in universe. Of course, not for pro.(Do not buy Kindle edition, the book will loose 50 % of its value without those incredible pictures.)

Interesting and understandable
Despite the complexity universe, the author makes it understandable for the layman. If space intrigues you, then this simplified explanation is for you. I really enjoyed the book and I recommend it.
