Does as I would hope for
It does the job. No complaints. Coupled with a dust cover/vacuum port it made quick work to prep for replacement of tiles. I bought extra, but only needed the one disc.

This works like a champ!
This thinset removal tool does an awesome job. Quickly does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is pricey but it does the job perfectly. I had to remove some thinset and also level the concrete base a bit as well. It removed the concrete just as well as the thinset.Removing thinset creates a cloud of dust! Heed the warnings and wear a good dust mask and eye protection.

Works pretty well and at a reasonable price!
This was my first foray into the world of grinding thinset off a concrete substrate; so, I don't have much to compare it to. I've used a grinder with cutting/grinding wheels before; but never a removal disc such as this. It made short work of removing the thinset from a trowel finished patio surface but had a bit more of a challenge with the larger amounts of thinset that was slathered onto a rough concrete patio addition. It was still doing the job; but it would have taken quite a bit of "doing" to remove it all. Not sure if you can see in the pic; but the two substrates were very different, as was the amount of thinset applied. All-in-all. I'm pleased with the results. I did have to modify the Bosch dust shroud on the Bosch grinder in order to make a "seal", as the grinding wheel was a much higher profile than others. A little YouTube ingenuity and I was on my way. I'm past the grinding portion of this project, so I'm not sure when I'll use this again...I'll post an update if I need to use it again soon.

Great bit.
Someone kindly gave us 160 pieces of beautiful porcelain tiles to use in a tub surround when our bathroom got ravished in a major water issue. It was like a gift from the hand of God. However, the tiles had been used and had grout and thinset all over the backs. I tried several ways to remove the thinset, when I discovered this handy little bit on Amazon. We had to purchase a grinder to mount the bit on because we didn't have one. Frankly, I was dubious that it would work! BUT IT DID! It took about one minute to remove the thinset from each tile. I worked outside under a great shady tree, covered the area in plastic, and put a workbench on the plastic. A friend of my suggested I use the open weave drawer liner (it's a little spongy and gripped the tile well) so the tiles didn't slide. That worked beautifully. Be sure to use safety goggles and gloves. I protected my arms by cutting the arms off an old long sleeved shirt and used them to cover my arms. It didn't get so hot that way.

This thing is a beast on thinset, just buy it.
Decided to replace all flooring in our house which involved extensive tile demo. Our slab isn’t what you’d call level or flat, so the prior tile installer used up to 1/2” of thinset in many areas to float the floor. This grinding blade made fast work of all of it, quickly chewing through some of the toughest thinset I’ve ever encountered. After doing 400+ sqft of the thick stuff, it’s still going strong, with no noticeable wear or change in performance. It just works quick and efficient. Grab a dust shroud, add to a grinder fitted with this blade, and you’ve got a 95% dust free demo friends.

Worth it, even with the extra costs.
Works phenomenally. Make sure you’re grinder is powerful enough. My 6 amp Hitachi (Metabo) angle grinder burnt out in around a minute. I replaced it with an 11 amp Dewalt grinder for around $100 and it worked great, but still got very hot. You will also need a dust shroud since this creates a ton of dust. There’s several on Amazon for around $25. I would say grinding down thinset is definitely doable for weekend warriors like myself, but not for the faint of heart. You should be skilled with operating power tools and take great care not to hurt yourself.

Grinding Cup
bought this to remove thinset from my enclosed porch floor. Removing old vinyl flooring isn't for the weak at heart and removing all glue from subfloor is a job I don't want to have to do again. I have burnt out 1, 4 1/2 grinder already and had to start using my 5 1/2 grinder which seems to be able to put up with this grinding cup. I still have 1/2 of the floor to do but having the subfloor clean should allow a good bound for the new floor I plan on installing.

Perfect for removing thinset
This bit made quick work of the thinset remaining on a concrete slab. It removed all the old mortar and polished out some rough spots on the slab so it was ready for installation of new tile. After one 9x5 foot bathroom the bit shows little wear. I expect it would do the same job multiple times.I used a HERZO universal surface grinding dust shroud for angle grinder, 5-inch size, connected to a Festool MIDI dust extractor. Virtually no dust, and that was mostly from doing close-up work around the perimeter. The dust shroud has a gate that opens to get the bit closer to an edge. The HERZO shroud is good for bits from 4 to 5-inches in diameter. At 4.5 inches, this bit worked perfectly.
