Hoya 52 mm Filter Kit II Digital for Lens

This kit comes with three filters (UV, circular-polariser, NDx8), you would never use UV filter, so to be honest, you are paying for two filters.However, both NDx8 and circ-pol filters are of very good quality. I did not observe any colour cast or artefacts on my images when I use them. Filters look of good quality and screw-on nicely on my Nikon D3300 standard kit lens and telephoto lens.Pros:> The NDx8 is really useful and works nice to bring silky-water effects> circ-pol works great and brings out rich blue sky with contrast clouds> UV filter is not actually needed but I use it as a lens cap for my lost Nikon-front-cap ;-)Cons:> The case is a turn off (see attached picture), I wish they had single, plastic case for each filter. The provided case is like a wallet and doesn't really protect them from dust. Who wants to buy a case separately? Grrrr> Just a trivial reminder, you can only use one filter at a time.Do you really need them?> yes, you can't do any landscape photography without these filters. Once you use them, you can clearly see they make images much more impressive. If you want just one filter at a time, circular filters are good.> but... the problem with these screw-on circular filters is that you can put on only one filter at a time in front of your lens, you can't use them in combinations. If you can spend slightly more, go for square/rectangular filters (Cokin P series, to start with, they produce decent results and are not very pricey), square filters slide into a rectangular filter holder (up to 3 can be used together).Overall, very good filters at this price range. Good for beginner photographers to understand the concept/usage of filters.Tip: Just remember to buy according to the size of your lens front diameter.

Excellent quality filter for those photographers looking to add that blur motion to their shots. I have bought the Hoya 49mm Pro ND 1000 filter.It is just great for my Sony a7 camera and Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 lens. Hoya produces the best value for money ND filters. The ND 1000 is the darkest neutral density filter for 49 mm filter thread. It's ideal for long exposure shooting. Like in the case of creating light rays from car lamps during night. Or vanishing people and cars from photos during daylight by using 30 seconds long exposure.

For movie makers wishing to counteract the immense depth of focus of small camcorders we may add a third1) A circular polariser to remove reflections / enhance colours – particularly in tropical areas and when photographing items in water (e.g. fish) or through glass (as in museums – subject to you being allowed to film!)2) A UV filter for high altitude (mountains, flying) or some seaside views to cut out UV haze .On still camera they were often used to protect the lens from scratches in place of lens caps. This camcorder has its own “shutter cap” which closes when the camera powers down.3) A neutral density filter to force the use of wide apertures to reduce the depth of fieldThis Hoya kit combines a pack of all three for the price of a circular polariser.On test on a Panasonic HC X920 I noted the following:-The filters as received (in a nice travelling pack in optical paper sleeves) are of the thin variety and threading on the front (49mm as well) to “piggyback” filters.The combination of the thin filters and the part cut threading on the front of the camcorder mean you need to be careful putting them on – not to be a rushed job. With the polariser ( which works well) you can fit the camera’s ( small) lens hood back on the front – all without apparent cut off ( vignetting) even at wide angle.Similar results were obtained with UV and ND filters.So first impressions – 3 for the price of one – 5 star.(Will update after more serious use in India at the end of this year).(Note – for those who like to experiment with Cokin filters and have the 49mm mount, these also work but the above Hoya is the good basic workhorse kit for travel)

As Hoya have always made quality filters.. this kit works well.. Well built material is solid.. but I should have read the description properly.. as they are not the Pro1's I usually use, instead they are HMC..

An excellent set of the three most important filters that a photographer needs. The 3 filters come in a handy pouch and screw into the lens.The UV filter is a must and helps to protect the lens; it also filters out UV light making skies more realistically blue.The circular polarising filter is adjustable (by rotating it) and reduces glare and other unwanted reflections.I haven't used the neutral density filter yet, but it is a handy 'mid-way' filter that cuts out some, but not most, of the light (ideal for reducing light in very bright conditions so that a smaller aperture can be used, thus decreasing depth of field).I am delighted with this package and highly recommend it to beginners and enthusiasts.

For the price you just can't go wrong! Great value.

While they work as a decent entry point for new photographers like myself, they aren’t great quality. You’re better off spending more and getting better quality filters from Hoya, cause these aren’t too great.The cpl is okay, but I feel the £20 version is much better, while the 8x ND filter is nowhere near as useful as a variable filter. UV filter does the trick nicely but they’re pretty useless unless you’re looking for protection in my opinion.The carry case is pretty neat though. Oh and the booklet can be confusing and isn’t a great help, but it’s a nice gesture.You’re better off buying two £20 filters than this pack.

I purchased this filter set for my Nikon D3100. Hoya makes a top quality filter, the frames are solid, the workmanship superb and the glass is optically perfect. I have used both the UV and the polarizing filter so far. Have not had a chance to use the ND filter, but plan to use it when shooting waterfalls. This is an excellent value for three very high quality filters and a nice carrying case. An independent test of UV filters found the Hoya to be the best of the lot and the best value as well! If there is any downside to Hoya filters, it is that they are a bit difficult to clean due to their multicoating.

This is my go-to filter kit for any lens that I may purchase. The kit has three filters which are the basics, the neutral density, the polarizer, and the skylight filter. The skylight filter stays on the lens as protection and it stands up to quite a few cleanings as well.If you are already going to get a skylight filter (HMC) why not get the kit and save money and receive two more filters practically for free. It is good to try the polarizer during the day as it creates a great effect on the sky portion of your photograph. The neutral density filter can be used for long exposure photography where you have a lower ISO setting and a higher quality image.Hoya is a trusted name among professional photographers the world over. You are receiving a great quality product at a fantastic price.Remember, the size of the filter is not equal to the millimeter reading that your lens is named after. This 67 mm kit goes on my Zeiss 100mm macro lens. Check the size you need for the lens you purchased before you buy a filter kit.
