Good quality and size
I have several colors. The OD Green is a darker green - it looks like what I remember from when I was a kid. The quality of these pieces is pretty good. You can see a lot of detail - and they stand without easily falling over. With all the colors available, you can easily determine which figures belong to which kid. This avoids issues of ownership between siblings or friends and allows you to have multiple players at the same time and easily distinguish which pieces belong to which army. There is a good mix of differently posed figures to allow your kids imagination run wild. If your sensitive to kids playing with toy guns or simulated war scenarios - that would be the only reason to avoid these or any other toy army men. Oh - that reminds me - there are no apparent female figures in these lots. One way to play is to have kids set up an army on either side of a good playing surface and give each kid some marbles. Either alternate turns or just yell “GO!” and let them roll or shoot the marbles at their opponents. When all your men are knocked over - your out. Last army with a man standing wins. Kids can actually strategize a lot in setting up their figures to create blockades and other strategic arrangements.

Perfect!
My 2.5 year old son has been carrying these everywhere since we bought them, he even sneaks them into bed as I have found him holding them after he falls asleep. Before I ordered these, we originally had 10 army men we won at an arcade that were super deformed, all of them were flimsy and broke almost immediately but he still held on to 2 of them, so I knew it was time for an upgrade. These are PERFECT. Strong enough to handle a rough 2 year old boy, we have had no breaks so far. They are very detailed, you can even see the wrinkles in their clothing and everything is proportionate. They all stand on their own. The plastic even feels better than the brittle arcade ones, it's heavier and more bendable. I know I will be buying this brand again as I am sure these are built to last.

Fun Gift & Easy to Work with
I've used these for a variety of things, but nothing "Home Alone" related...lol. The average size army man that we've all known since we're kids. As with most toys, the durability is fair, but add enough pressure and it'll twist, bend, or snap. If you shoot it with a BB gun, then you'll definitely leave a mark or blast off an arm, depending on how powerful your weapon is. Like most parents would know, if you step on it (blindly in the dark) then 'YES' you will definitely feel it in your feet and leave a mark, mentally or physically...lol. As of lately, I've been modifying these to use with my 'Marble Board' game as some of my playable characters, instead of using actual marbles. Material is sturdy, but easy to work with. Worth the Purchase?...Yes. :-)

Good (enough)
These are good, but I would recommend just buying the green/tan pack. The quality seems to be the best on those particular colors. I bought several packs. Yellow is my favorite color as well, so I don't say that lightly. It is super cool that they are made in the USA though. One major plus is that they seem to give you about the right number of each mold. You won't get a pack of all minesweepers.

When did Army Men become a difficult toy to find?
I went to a couple of local stores and behold! No little green army men. Why do I care? Because I recently bought an airbrush and I wanted something inexpensive to practice painting on. When I'm reasonably confident in my ability to base coat stuff I'll probably give them to the kids to play with.Per the "ideas" section - Age range: 5 and up on the bag seems reasonable. Unless something breaks off theree's nothing small for children to swallow. No assembly required. The molding lines are pretty small which suggests a decent molding process. Good price, especially for what I intend to do.
