## Description

The bionic finger for fixed spool reels. Simply tape the Cannon securely to the butt of your rod in a comfortable position above or behind the spool rim, allowing space for the bale arm to rotate. Release the trigger and pass line from the spool over the capstan. Depress the trigger with the index finger to trap the line, then disengage the bale arm. The cast is made as normal by releasing the trigger at the precise moment.|Options:CASTING AID

Review: Bought one to try out, now have them on all my surf poles - If you use cord, instead of monofilament, and you're casting surf-lures all day or night, these are great. No need for a glove to protect your fingers, and they allow me to reply throw it out there. A bit of learned muscle memory required, at least for this clumsy fisherman, before it becomes automatic, but that's a short learning curve, and then you can use them blind in the dark as easily as during the day. I've read some complaints that they must be taped onto the rod, but that's a necessary feature, because you want to position the shaft directly below your reel's spool, and reels differ in size. Consider it a custom job, and you'll feel better abut it. I used electrical tape to accomplish this before thinking of heat-shrunk sleeves, also available, cheap, in the same Home Depot department. That produces a much neater looking final affect, and eliminates the possibility of the tape end unravelling, but either method will work. I'd suggest trying tape first, to make sure you're satisfied with the location, and then making it a bit more permanent with the shrink sleeve. It's an excellent product and in my opinion, well worth the price.
Review: Necessity not an accessory - Pure genius. I'm a zip tie fan and they work very well and quickly for installation. Just be mindful of where the zip tie lock will end up so as not to bite you. Easy learning curve. By the 4th cast the loading movement became natural and subsequent trips found no fumbling or memory searching to load. For thin braid it's a must have. No more taped/cut fingers. No more gloves except to keep your hands warm. My only regret is that I only bought 2 to start with.

**Q: Does it come in different sizes?**
A: The cannon Cast Aid comes in 1 size only

**Q: Can i use one on my spoon bill snagging  pole normally i can only go a couple hours and my finger  get baddly bruised?**
A: Never having owned a spoon bill snagging pole I dont see why not. It’s a rod with a reel and fishing line and if your finger hurts after casting for a while this Cannon casting aid will do the trick. There is no pressure on your finger. Couple of turns on the aid and off you go. Highly recommend it if loading rod for a good cast.

**Q: what type of reel is this designed for, spinning, bait caster?**
A: Spinning reel and a must if you use braided line. You will save yourself a cut finger when casting. I use it for long casting surf rod.

**Q: Is there a practical way to mount this so that it can be easily removed after casting bait then attached to another rod to cast lures then back again**
A: You need it to be firmly on the rod. I use electrical ties. Here is a video of how to mount the canon. The canon is under considerable load during the cast.

Use tape. I use this on an 11ft st croix avid surf pole. It allows me to use thinner braid , so i don't chop my finger. -- not only do you get to use the full power of the pole , you also get more distance from the thinner line. I can now , empty out 1/2 a 4000 size reel loaded with 20# braid , using 5 oz of lure :) Practice makes perfect , start with old lures and expect to loose a few , keep your old heavy line , until your good , then fill up with lighter line. I have at least 3000 casts on this device and it has just started to show "some wear". I'll do 150 casts per session. I imagine most people will never see 1000 casts . Use electrical tape and try to find the best position.. Have fun And tight lines
