I really like having some 1/2 gallon canning jars around. Pints and quarts are just fine, most of the time, but a few 1/2 gallon jars are great for things like tomatoes and tomato sauces. They simplify potluck dinner preparation, and family cookouts - just drag one big jar out for use, instead of 2 or 4 smaller jars. It also helps to speed up canning - fill your two dozen smaller jars, then when you're getting tired, pour all of the remainder into one or two jars, instead of up to 8 little pint jars.

These jars are perfect. They were everything that we needed them for.

For the price, it's still a good deal. The packaging could have been a tad better. But I'm satisfied.
