Huge and responsive.
Really good refresh rate with little ghosting. The screen is enormous and clear and is quite nice to write on with some bit. Glare is acceptable. Feels proportionaly very light compared to Tab Ultra/C, and makes those models look suddenly small. The official case is a bit rubbish, though better than it was, and the lack of magnetic pen support is weird - you get the magnet pen but nowhere to stick it, so I have left it in the box and use another pen. Like the Lumi 2, Tab X still feels half-baked whereas the Note Air Plus and Tab Ultra/C etc. come across much more refined/next gen.Battery drains faster than the non-gpu Booxes when just reading; it just can't seem to idle. On the other hand playing audio or video, or browsing, doesn't drain it much quicker. It behaves in this regard more like a normal lcd tablet, where you expect 10-20 hours, depending. However, regardless of anything else, if you need or want the large screen it simply can't be beat at the moment of writing this review. It is a pleasure to use and annotate pdf's with.

Good but Overpriced.
Good build quality, great screen and the BSR tech is a game changer but its held back by an old and weak SOC and lack of features like and SD card slot. Its way too expensive for the specs but its the only product of its type.

Beware of updates rendering device useless
I have an Onyx Boox Max 2, which counter-intuitively is older than this model. I bought it a few years ago paying nearly £1000. I have just updated the software and it has rendered it useless. I am furious to have spent so much money on a device that was killed in a few years by an update. The device is far too underpowered to run the latest os. Yet they let it update. Presumably to get me to buy a new one. I am furious - what an awful approach. I am not a huge Apple fan but at least they have sufficient ethics to prevent old devices bricking themselves. I cannot even factory reset as the apps I use will not now be available for the old os.
