Impressive bot kit by a stellar company
Way to knock it out of the park (again). I purchased originally the Big Hexapod so I wanted to try a roller bot. Seriously, really easy to put together and instructions were 10/10. Will be buying again.

Great kit, but can't get the camera to work
It's mechanically well designed and everything fits as it should. The code is great to learn from. There are test routines that you can use to individually test the circuits, like, driving the motors/treads, operating the crane, distance module, infrared, etc. The documentation is fantastic. I got a lot out of this kit.The one thing I cannot get to work is the camera though, and without the camera, you can't use the robot because the server will error out and terminate when it tries to initialize it. There seems to be a magic combination of drivers and versions that I have not hit upon yet. I've even reinstalled the Raspi OS a few times trying to chase it down. The reason Linux isn't as popular as it should be is because it's comprised of a bunch of barely functional libraries that don't work well with other barely functional libraries, some that are still in beta, that throw indecipherable error messages that you have to scroll 3 pages up to read. It's the height of frustration (rant over).

Support
Freenove has an excellent support team that is very communicative and helpful. If you enjoyed the Big Hexapod Robot for Raspberry Pi, give this one a try!

Nice Robot But no Support for software
The robot is a very nice robot if it would work. First of all the build is very easy but the instructions are missing critical steps. Luckily I am knowledgeable enough that I can figure out how to build it.Secondly. The software instructions are poor and missing critical steps.Worst of all is the Freenove support. I’ve been emailing them for a week to get the software correctly loaded. And all they do is send me images from their pdf instructions. They don’t listen to the problem and they never answer what I am questioning. You load the main software from GitHub. Then you have to modify code lines but even if you follow exactly word for word errors pop up and the software does not function.Plus I have a bad ultrasound module and all they want is a video showing the problem. The problem is that it doesn’t work. Just send a replacement. I have not gotten a straight forward answer from support on anything I ask. I takes 24 hrs for them to answer which is understandable but they send an email with a shot of their pdf manual. They just don’t listen.I think this robot is a few years old and they have not updated the software packages or the instructions.Very poor product and worse support help from Freenove

Check the acrylic parts to be sure they are cut correctly
I received this as a gift. I got to the part of the assembly where the lift arms were to be installed. This step is towards the end of the assembly process.. The problem, well two problems, the first was that the acrylic arm that attaches to the servo motor was not correct. The screw holes were not laser cut in the acrylic arm for the servo arm and the hole that would go over the servo motor gear was not enlarged. The second issue I had was I contacted support showed pictures of what I had, even circled the part I needed. They said they would send me the part and I thought great, I get to finish the tank and try it out.. Well after several weeks of waiting and no movement regarding postal tracking. I took it all apart and repackaged it and sent it back for a refund as the return window was closing. On the 30th of Jan i received a package in the mail. It was parts for the tank, however, they were the wrong ones.. Not even close to what I needed. I sent pictures and everything.. My advice and what I should have done is carefully look over the parts and be sure they are correct. I will mention that I did go thru ALL the screws and hardware to make sure it was all there. I just didn't think to look over the acrylic cut pieces. Other than that, it looked like a neat kit.. I kinda wish it would have worked out as I would probably have enjoyed it. If I somehow get another one. I will update my review

Motor wire broke off
We bought this for a school and the two motors that had the electrical wires attached to them broke off. It seemed very flimsy and I tried to connect it back on but was unsuccessful. Is there a way to get a replacement?
