Really cool laser and light show - My daughter loves it.
This little spaceman is a total winner. Powerful projection onto the ceiling with a spinning galaxy and separately a laser that looks like little green stars on the walls and ceiling. It has adjustments to the brightness for both projection and laser but read the description carefully for all the features (I didn't and everything turned out fine). My daughter is a rabid instruction reader and figured it out pretty fast. I just helped set it up. Two things to note: 1. The packaging was a disaster up when it arrived. It was packed in a flimsy box which was disintegrating inside an amazon prime bag, but luckily nothing was broken or damaged . From the way it was packed, Its certainly possible, so if you buy one and it's delivered in one of those flimsy plastic bags from Amazon, be ready to take some photos on the packaging in the event it's not working correctly but it should be Ok. 2. Also note, it runs from a charger cable, that they provide cant remember if its a usb-c or mini. You will need your own phone charger and possibly a longer cable or extension, depending on where your plugs are. I had to use an extension and an old iPhone charger plug. Conclusion - It's pretty slick and I wish I had something like this in my college dorm along with my lava lamp and black lights illuminating my posters taped on the wall!

We have tried various night lights such as: the astronaut, rechargeables, eggs, and aliens. This is the closest to night light that has almost every feature and one that I can endorse the most.It has plenty of features to make it seem cooler: all kinds of sound effects, some wacky. It has the moving galaxy swirls. But my favorite feature of all, is the cover. Almost all nightlights are way too bright by themselves. I also despise the stars (you shouldn't look into a green led light for health reasons.) Yet most turn on automatically on startup. The cover blocks that and gives a much dimmer appearance with the ability to uncover and not just be placing some thin towel hiding it.The only night light that had an extra feature comapred to this was alien one that would copy what you said, fun for a few moments but rarely used after.Overall great night light and sound machine.

Light motion feature CAN fail within months
First, I have to say the seller is very responsive and took care of the first one they sent, and replaced it promptly after the motion feature died within 3 months. I wasn't surprised because this has happened with the other more traditional "galaxy" light projectors, of which I'd purchased two within a few months of this purchase, both of which lost the motion feature (in which it looks like clouds are moving across the ceiling and walls). So when I brought it to the attention of the seller, they must have had similar issues so there was no problem getting a replacement. I've been tempted, ever since I got the replacement, to leave a good review based on that good customer service, and on it's continued performance since then. Up until yesterday that is, when I turned it on for the evening and thought to myself "I should write a nice review of this dinosaur egg light", but I hesitated because I was afraid I would jinx it and it would die as soon as I wrote it. Well no sooner did I have that thought when the motion-light feature DID in fact die, about 24 hours ago. So I decided today to write this review anyway, because if you're considering this, and like me you really appreciate interesting and colorful lighting when you lie down, and you're not afraid to be thought of as child-like for appreciating colored light, then this is at least a better option than the other more traditional 'flying saucer-type' galaxy projectors. While thinking of how I would rate this, I did give it another go-round with all three buttons to make sure it was still dead. I clicked on the mode button that allows it to cycle through all the colors, and discovered that the multi-color mode actually still has motion. I also have a smaller projector that I use together with this one, it provides circular movement like a whirlpool, and the two motions work very well together. I would prefer my clouds to remain blue but sometimes I actually enjoy seeing clouds in red, blue, green, and white. The green laser pinpoint lights ("starfield") are also a great feature, especially because they wax and wane just as the real sky does. I just want potential customers to understand that no matter who the projector manufacturer is, whatever technology produces the motion-like effect of lights has a long way to go before it's reliable. Even though it's only been 7 months, at least I still have some of that light motion with this unit, even though it too may die soon as well. Altogether I have five of these various light projectors that have died on me within months (the lights still work but with no motion). Without that dynamic motion ingredient, they really aren't worth much to us 'light connoisseurs', but this one is still in use, along with its smaller vortex companion (another manufacturer who shall remain nameless). I just wish that whoever is working in this market realizes that we would much rather do without the built-in Bluetooth speaker, because if we appreciate lighting on this level, we have a much better sound system anyway. Better that a feature we don't use is removed from the equation and improvements made on making motion-lighting that can be relied on. The speaker is nice, but if you can get a reliable dynamic motion lighting effect that will last for years, we would gladly give up the speaker feature for that. Until then, someone should put a light like this on a subscribe-and-save list so that it can be replaced regularly when the motion feature gives out. Or if there's some microchip that can be replaced, that would be one way to handle the issue, but I just don't think the technology is quite there yet. At least this dinosaur-egg style light is one of your best options until then.

Does nothing it advertised. Does not stay on, does not stay off- horrible device
Seriously my worst purchase of the year. 1. It turns off whenever it wants. It only works 2-4 hours at a time. It is never still on when I go in to check on my baby, who's often woken up or unable to go back to sleep due to the sudden silence and darkness of his room. Multiple times a night. He'd be sleep trained if it were not for this stupid device.2. The "stars" are a hideous, BRIGHT green light that you can NOT turn off. Is there and on/off button for them on both the machine and remote? Yes! Does that mean they turn off and stay off? No!. Again, the machine does as it pleases.Clearly I'm at my breaking point and will be spiking this device in the garbage in the morning, but I also wanted to warn any other parents from my same fate. You'd expect a nightlight device to stay on for a minimum of 8 hours and ideally until you turned it off, but this device doesn't do that! So, do not purchase it if you need the bare minimum functionality of a night light.

Amazing
My 7 year old and I both love this light. We currently share a room and this is perfect for bedtime. The lights are adjustable in many variants. Some of the sounds are obnoxious, but we love the sound of the storm. Love that it's all packed in this cutsy little egg
