I was hoping when I ordered these chips that they would, at minimum, taste sort of mushroomy, and maybe with a hint of truffles. I will admit to being thrilled with their amazing truffle flavor, just the right amount of crispiness, salt and for us, the perfect potato chip taste and texture. The final winning touch was turning the bag over to read the ingredients and nutrition facts, and seeing the chosen donation ~ a veteran's home, since our entire family, going back many generations, and now our children following in our foot steps, are career military. We will be buying these chips and this brand again

Love the black truffle flavor! I've been looking for these a long time and now I found my go to brand. I will absolutely order these again.When I opened the bag it doesn't have an overwhelming odor like other brands I've tried, so when I tasted the chip, I wasn't expecting it to have so much flavor. They are extremely fresh and I'm addicted to them!! They are slightly salty but since I love salt this wasn't an issue for me. 5 stars not only because they are amazing, but the brand itself is amazing as well!!

The Deep River, Black Truffle chips are by far the best flavored potato chips I've had. They had a perfect balance of salty and umami that just made them a real treat. Sadley when I contacted Deep River Snacks about the Black Truffles availability, I was informed that they have been discontinued. I hope that Deep River Snacks will bring this flavor back at some point soon.

Super unique flavor! Anyone who likes truffle flavor will enjoy these chips. Indeed I've experienced some varying degrees of saltiness from batch to batch, but nothing that makes me shy away from ordering them again and again.Found them on a ski trip in Galena, Illinois in Chestnut Mountain Resort's food court and now order them from home in Iowa because nobody around here carries them.GET IN MY BELLY!!!

I will say that the last batch I got were a little saltier than the first two. Outside that they were just as delicious and very fresh as my daughter and I both love this flavor. I really wish the black truffle came in bigger bags but I will take it as I can get it. I have also had the New york style pickle ones and so far none of the flavors I have tried have been anything less than very tasty. I would highly recommend buying them directly from the company off Amazon or the company website as you can guarantee the freshness and trust me it is worth the price to pay in bulk.***Updated 5/20/2020** So I do not know if this was a fluke or if it was meant to change the flavor but as you can see from my picture the salt in this product is overwhelming. It is so bad I can not even eat the chips I ordered 2 boxes as my daughter and I both love the Black Truffle flavor but after opening only 6 bags I am reluctant to try anymore. I have sent a customer service message to Deep River and will wait for the response if I get one but I am temporarily lowering my rating on this to reflect a change in the product quality.**Update 6/1/2020*** Customer service reached out to me and offered to not only correct the issue but also replace it. That was about a week and a half ago but they did say to allow for up to at least a week for processing so we will see but for now I raised the rating based on them reaching out to me.

Great sub when your tummy hates garlic but you miss the taste.

I've had the salt and vinegar flavor before which I think is pretty great since I like a strong vinegar flavor. However, the black truffle flavor is awful. It is so unbearably salty that I have difficulty finishing just 1 bag (1-oz). Check the nutrition information and you can see that it is about 2x the amount of sodium as their other flavors. Honestly this purchase is a waste of my money. I think I'm going to end up tossing these chips. I've tried leaving feedback on the Deep River Snacks website to ask if it was a mistake for my batch of chips to be so salty, but there was no response.

I'm a huge truffle fan, mustard, seasoning, mushrooms for cooking, and on my popcorn. These specific chips, although not found in CA are all over in the NJ, NY area and are amazing. You will love these chips.
