Hell & High Water: 1 (THIRDS)

More enjoyable than the original
I have read almost all the books in the THIRDS series. I went off them as they were getting a bit weird and the constant 'my man is the most amazing guy ev-ah' was getting too much.Basically the story is as follows; after a disease outbreak a vaccine is created using animal DNA leading to a mutation side effect creating a new species who can change into animal form. These people are called therians and they have to register and be marked. THIRDS is a police \ swat team made up of equal humans and therians and their job is to fight crimes committed by therians. Dex Daley is the lead character and is human with an adopted therian brother.Dex Daley is so much more tolerable in graphic novel format. He is less pretentious, sneering and self-righteous. There are none of his inner monologues where he goes on about how wonderful he is and his character trait of acting like a five year old on speed is toned down as well. He's still funny and outrageous but there's more depth to him here, and more intelligence behind the jokes. I don't know if the changes came about during editing or if they were made by the artist. The gang is well portrayed and the art is beautiful. I love the facial expressions as the crew interact with each other. With the book in art form you can really get a sense for how close everyone is and the bond they share. The sex is hot and well drawn. Nothing much happens in the beginning (as with the original novel) as the romance is a slow burn but when it happens it doesn't disappoint. I really hope the next volumes will be given the graphic novel treatment as well as I would love to read them. It might well reignite my passion for this series!

Better then expected
I was very pleasantly surprised by the size, brought as a gift and was expecting a basic comic book, so this was amazing. I think it will be very much enjoyed thank you.

Time for Big Cats
Little about this book is unique. However, I’m a big fan of the setting, the characters are adorable, the pace is fast and to see actual men turn into beasts of prey (instead of, you know, just growing the usual cat ears) in a graphic novel is incredibly satisfying. If you have the itch to see men in uniforms, who are also elegant feline predators, talk about their feelings, this book will scratch it for you. I really hope this sells well enough to allow for the sequel to also be made into a graphic novel.

The book is not in color!
Français en dessous!I was kinda disapointed to discover that this is black and white only, and "weirdly" the sfx are still in korean (in manga they are usually translated, and that the book is kinda small...BUT!This is such a great story, weirdly enough i read this book for the story not the romance, so i can tell you that it has been a long time since i was that interested in a world's story. Their relation ship is very cute too eheh, now i only wait for more book to be adaptated in comics!

Love it so much!
Thirds is one of my fav serie, and altought this graphic novel is not totally the same as the book, like the author explained, the characters are the faithful reproducion of the one in the books, so the loyal fans will be not disappointed. Bonus point : if you are a new reader to the saga, don't worry... this can be read as a standalone story even if you know nothing about the books.Recommended for readers who love action, investigation, shenanigans and mystery plots and sassy, trouble magnet, funny and broody, handsome MCs.
