amazing book for an amazing price. i got lucky with the price. cant wait to dive in.

First I must write that I am not a reviewer but a student of life no matter how cliche' that sounds. If I can't do a better job at what I am reviewing and I learn from it, I give it 5 stars. The "Encyclopedia of Black magic" is published by "Mallard Press" (c) 1990 at 666 Fifth Avenue New York, N.Y. which I find amusing and interesting since most high rise buildings omit the 13th floor, they actually go from the 12th floor next to the 14th floor. This must be some bold publishing house, using the address 666 would not invite evangelists to seek publication for their work which basically leaves the door open for those who wish to honestly share a knowledge without fear of superstition. In 2009 "Mallard Press" temporarily went out of business although they do have a web site.As for this book it is a compilation of art, history and the existing organizations in 1990. There are formulas for spells, love potions, sexual spells and tales of the sorcerers which used them. The editors also speak of the ludicrous reasons of having to need a spell. This is not a how to book but an analysis of the idiotic-racy of the lengths humans have traveled to achieve something that hard work will result in or the events that just were not meant to be. Making someone fall in love with one is an example of how greed, lust and pride just do not prevail. The "Seven Deadly Sins" are scattered throughout this text although not identified directly, they are just chapters within these writings. This Encyclopedia covers Black Magic from many cultures. A large number of practitioners are mentioned from the beginning of recorded time to the publishing of this book. Hey, I only acquired this book to enjoy it with the next group of Mormon's or Jehovah's Witness who next time will think twice before interrupting my peace of mind. Thank you, Craig Barr.

If you like to learn about Black Magic in parts of the world, then this is a great book. Though the front cover was a little damaged.
