I like that you can cut along the long edge without messing it up for smaller casings. However, the button holes are TINY. I had to cut them to make then fit my normal size buttons. I have a skinny kid with long legs, and they just don't make knit pants in a skinny size. The solution is to buy knit pants with a drawstring (theirs is never elastic, of course), or with fake drawstring ends, and remove that drawstring to insert this. (Make sure the drawstring casing is wide enough to accommodate 3/4" wide elastic. Sometimes the drawstring is sewn in at the back center seam - gotta hate that, more stitching to remove.First cut this elastic to more than the waist length desired, and sew a 1/2" flat, 2-hole button on one end of this elastic. You may want to finish the elastic ends with stitching or fray-check to keep them from unraveling. Feed the elastic through the casing using a safety pin if you don't have a bodkin. Fasten the button in a comfortable hole, and you're done. Why don't kid's knit pants come from the manufacturer this way?
