I ordered the 9HP wood chipper 3 times from Amazon and on each day of delivery I woke up to a message saying there was a problem with the delivery. So each time I was advised to get a refund and order again from Amazon. They obviously have a problem with the 9HP model but I couldn't get an honest answer from Amazon as to why it didn't turn up 3 TIMES.I finally ordered it from Forest Master. They were great to deal with and it turned up super quick.I used it today for the first time and it was great . They advise using it on freshly cut branches but I had a lot of stuff to chip that was 9 months old . Some of it was 3" thick . The chipper ate it all and I used the chippings as a weed supresent for my garden path .It is a big and heavy piece of kit but if you have a big garden with lots of trees and big bushes then I would highly recommend paying the extra for the 9HP version.

I already own a Log Splitter of this Companies Manufacture - that I am very pleased with - so stuck with them. The Chipper has also proved to be everything that I expected. With that said, it does not particularly like hard wood, dead wood or Hawthorne brushwood and the secret here is to put the difficult stuff in first then follow it up with some softer material (in my case some Willow Branches) The Willow dragged the more difficult stuff through with it.Another tip is - DO NOT switch off the machine until it has THOROUGHLY finish chipping. In my case an unchipped small piece (1/2" in Dia. x 4" lg) was left laying ACROSS the Chipper blade. In this situation the Blade is jammed and it is not possible for the Engine to turn over a full stroke and allow it to fire up. Then it is remove the Bottom Plate on the chipper unit mechanism and clear it. Not difficult, but a job you do not need.

This thing is a monster.. I was going to buy the smaller version but so glad I plumbed for the beefier option.. it swallowed everything I threw down its neck and sat there as if to say 'is that all you got?'.. very happy great product.

Item will not start, or stool within the first 5min and never restart !Waste of time money & space.Manufacturer does not know what the problem is ! Very frustrating!
