It's an official replacement UPS battery!
Just like my headline, there's not much to say about a replacment battery, but I'll try anyway! I own two APC UPS, a BE700 and BE550. I purchased this replacement for my BE700 which got some 5 years life before failing. Interestingly, the BE550 is now almost 7 years old and still going on the same battery! So I can't really give an accurate assessment of the longevity, as it seems to vary quite widly. This is also evident as we use a BE700 at my work's office and the battery in that failed within a few years, so it could be luck of the draw on if you get a "good" battery. The replacement was already at 100% charge once installed, so appears new and not sitting in a warehouse for ages. I expect at least 5 years out of it on this evidence. Delivery was quick and of course it's really easy to fit. The UPS didn't really give me much warning of failure. It did fail a self-pass test a few weeks before and discharged quite a bit, but then recharged and carried on as normal only to one day completely shutdown without warning. This in turn cut the power to the devices I had plugged in. I probably should have replaced it at the test failure if I'm honest, so my own fault. I think the price of these and the units has really increased over the years. I barely paid over £50 each for both UPS and see they are selling at well over £100 these days, so the price of the battery has obviosuly increased too (probably double) and is almost the price I originally paid for the UPS, but if it lasts at least 5 years, it's still decent value. You must also safely dispose of the dead battery, usually a good recycling centre will take them. I would give it 5 stars, but as these batteries have wildly varying and unpredictible lifespans, I can't say it won't fail sooner or later than the others I've had. So I think 4 stars is fair, also taking into consideration the price and it's still an official APC battery, which I'd always use over a third party.

This battery will of course have to be replaced again in the future
The Uninteruptable Power Supply (UPS) I use can protect a number of devices simultaneously, including computers, printers etc from supply voltage peaks and troughs. Sadly in my case the UPS supplying company no longer supports my bit of kit.

Replacement battery for BE700G 700VA system
We get periodic power outages and the APC BE700G 700VA backup system is vital to keep the wifi router powered - so far is has been tested out to 18hrs. The original APC battery fitted in the UPS lasted 4.5 years, well past its warranty. There were a few cheaper alternatives available but given the performance of the original battery and criticality of the system I went for the OEM version. It arrived within 24hrs, fitted in a few minutes and has been working great for 3 months including 2 or 3 power outages of up to 8hrs.

You're paying a lot for a sticker
APC don't make their own batteries. They put a sticker (easily pealed off) on various 3rd party batteries to make them a "genuine replacement".Unfortunately guessing which 3rd party batteries are OK and which aren't is a risk I wasn't prepared to take; not only are some lower capacity, but a badly made battery this size isn't worth the safety risk.I did manage to find an exact match for my old battery (which lasted 12 years), but it would have much longer to arrive from Europe, had a no manufacturer warranty (just the 30 day Amazon return period) - thank 2016 for that I guess. Had I been able to find one of the brands that APC rebadge available in the UK I'd have gone with that and saved potentially quite a lot of money. It's anybody's guess whether the new battery is the actually same as my original one that lasted so long or a completely different brand (I'm hesitant to peel the sticker from the new one in case it fails under warranty).
