Dont buy
I cant get it to work. It powers up ok, connects to wifi ok, installed up and paired ok, use the app to switch on the light but the light doesnt come on.instructions are ok, but very limited help, QR codes for further help dont work, no website for support.app seems ok, but universal app made by different company so again no help when it comes to support for the actual product. The product looks good, seems well made, and I was impressed by the reviews, but after looking through them again to see if there were any hints and tips for installation I saw they were all made within 4 days, 2 are virtual duplicates (but by different people), then when you investigate the reviewers a bit more and what they have been reviewing the content doesnt make sense to the actual product in many of their other reviews.very disappointed as on paper does everything I want (apart from work).I will be returning unless I can find some useful info.I'm hoping I have to rewrite my review and will post here any update.

Very convenient
Easy to use, apps great, can turn on and off from anywhere. Set up required some patience. There is quite a bright blue light on the unit, works well for me as it means i can walk down the stairs in the dark, might bother some people. My only gripe is when the switch is off it makes an annoying humming sound??!!

Home Automation - A Challenge to Install and a Challenge for Alexa to access. :-(
Well this was an experience that remains incomplete. I have now managed to install and pair the wall switch, it took over 3 hrs to complete. I am quite adept at DIY and all things electrical and security but this has been one hell of a challenge. Yes, I had a Neutral line and like many it is two separate cables that are simply joined behind the traditional light switch for a continuous circuit.Challenge No.1: Getting two cables to fit and be retained in the Wall Switch. Near impossible but eventually managed.Challenge No.2: Being a modern building the existing wall switch bracket was the plastic white type with two adjustable blue screw hole lugs which on inserting the Smart Wall Switch were pushed back to their extreme making screwing the smart wall switch to the bracket near impossible. After much fiddling and swearing at the gods of Electricians and Home Automation I managed to screw the Smart Wall Switch to the wallChallenge No.3: Challenge number 2 above was exacerbated by the fact the screws enclosed with the Smart Wall Switch are too big (wide) for the UK wall switch bracket. Resolved by using the old wall switch's existing screws.Challenge No.4: On tightening the Smart Wall Switch to the wall, I slightly over-tightened one. With the screw being the original wall switch screw where the screw head is smaller than those provided with the Smart Switch it popped through the soft plastic of the Smart Switch bracket. Again, much swearing at the gods of Electricians and Home Automation I managed to remedy the problem. Now things started to go well. Yep you guessed it those gods I had been swearing at were playing with me. I managed to easily pair the switch with my Wifi router and can now successfully access the Smart Switch from my iOS devices using the eWeLink iOS application. Next step get Alexa, who resides in my little black Amazon Dot to control the Smart Switch for me.... hehehe..Challenge No.5; Yep, here the gods got their own back!! Now I have registered with eWeLink and can control the Smart Switch from my phone without a hitch. I look to download the Alex Skill for eWeLink only to find that when I enter my ID and Password successfully in use I am tole no such account exists!! This is as yet unresolved and trying to finds how to get support from eWeLink has taken some searching. I am now awaiting a response to my Email. Safe to say the second Smart Switcvh I have will be returned and an alternate method of light control sought. Watch this space.

Slow to work and keeps needing setup.
Fitted and found long delay between switching on and getting light, after short while stopped working and kept going into setup mode. Suggest you avoid, never had trouble with smart life app switches to date.

Doesn’t work
I found this impossible to install as it relies on a wifi network which is supposed to appear when you make it live but doesn’t

Randomly switches on and off
I bought this product and had it fitted by an electrician..Two weeks after it was fitted it lost its Internet connection then when it reconnected it started to switch the lights on and off randomly. It switches the lights on and off at random intervals so it can switch on and off at any time normally no longer than five minutes between switching. It is unfortunate because if it worked it would be great, I am going to have to pay an electrician to disconnect it.Because it’s fitted in the kitchen it’s quite dangerous .

Not quite there yet
Good idea but hits the crossbar. The device is easy to install and set up, works well with Alexa and the app allows the lights to be switched off remotely.Unfortunately, the blue LED lights the room up like the Blackpool Illuminations when dark, the LED is far to bright and makes it difficult to sleep. I tried covering it with some tape, but it causes the switch to malfunction. The light has switched on by itself on 3 occasions in the early hours of the morning which isn't the best. It blinks as if it's trying to pair throughout the night as well. The blue LED is really the worst, why does it need a light? It's voice and app activated why do you need a light to direct you to the switch?Mines is going back.

Not good for UK switches as neutral required
Doesn’t work without neutral.
