Can the filter be to big

No to really. If you want to fully cycle your tank you need a filter that can fit enough bio media. Eg 1kg of media per 100l to gain a full cycle ie 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 0 or low nitrate. You can get 2.75k of bio media in the f16 so good for a 250l tank.

Can I plum this in to my already set up inlet and outlet of my fluval 190 tank?, The fluval 305 external filter I have is leaking.
