Excellent chisel for the price. Laminated blade. Five to ten minutes honing the edge will get it razor sharp. Great mortise chisel.

These chisels (I splurged and bought the whole set… that’s how impressed I was!) are genuine oire nomi. With the laminated steel you can get an incredible edge that snaps hair at a touch, and lasts forever, even when working with maple.I use them for shaping joints in lutherie work. The hollow grind and assortment of sizes gives you such control over shaping that chalk fitting isn’t even necessary.I wish I had purchased these chisels a decade ago!

This will work good for a 9mm mortise chisel as long as you're not needing to mortise out a deep mortise.

I need Japanese steel style chisel without mortgaging the home. It has provided good durability and sharpness through repeated use on a variety of hardwoods (white oak, walnut and red oak). I have not sharpened yet but do not anticipate any disappointment. I have purchased additional chisels and will purchase more

Nach 2 Wochen Gebrauch, bin ich insgesamt mit den Kakuri Holzmeißeln sehr zufrieden. Trotz teilweise grober Behandlung durch mich, erscheinen sie mir langlebig. Sie sind präzise und gut gearbeitet, was sie zu einer guten Wahl für jeden Handwerker macht, der hochwertige Holzarbeiten ausführen möchte. Die Klinge ist präzise geschliffen, um eine gute Schneideleistung zu erzielen. Über die Schärfe kann man sich sicherlich streiten. Ich habe alle Meisel nochmal nachgeschärft und poliert. Der Griff bietet einen bequemen Halt während der Arbeit. Die Klinge kann einfach geschärft und poliert werden, um ihre Schneidleistung aufrechtzuerhalten.

I bought this chisel and it arrived about a week ago. There was no badging on the handle. All my efforts to reset the ferrule failed, but I won’t be hitting it much. Although sharp, the cutting edge had a couple of very small nicks. About 30 minutes of sharpening nearly removed them. But the chisel is sharp! There is a very small crank above the blade. This suits me, because I will mainly use the tool for horizontal paring. At the price this is a bargain.The 42 mm model arrived two hours ago, and all the badging was present. The edge was better than the first, and I left the ferrule undisturbed. It was very hard to discern a crank in this chisel. Nevertheless, it cut beautifully, and is another chisel that won’t be struck with a hammer or mallet.I’m a happy chappie!Mike

裏押しをしてみたら刃先が表側にかなり沿っていたようで、結局ベタ裏にしなければ平面を出せない。はっきり言ってゴミレベルの不良品。
