Excellent build quality compared to the GA-2, Ricoh’s own adapter. The GA-2 is made of super lightweight plastic, and there is quite a bit of play and shake when using it as it doesn’t secure well to the camera. This JJC adapter however, is made of aluminum and is super solid, and feels secure. In addition, it does NOT trigger the crop mode, which the GA-2 does, so if you so choose you can use this with the GT-2 at 60mm (a true 1.5x) and full resolution. If you’d like to use the GT-2 at 75mm, simply enable the 50mm crop mode! I love the ability to choose, and it makes the GRIIIx even more versatile. The build is vastly superior to the Ricoh GA-2, at less than half the price. I highly recommend this to all users of the GRIIIx!

If you're not too concerned about pocketability, it's a good way to protect the extended lens when combined with a filter.

Solid construction and works great. If you want to avoid the automatic crop applied by the camera, this is a great alternative to the OEM version.

The build quality of the adapter is excellent. Made from sturdy aluminum. However, I'm disappointed with the fit when it's mounted on the camera. It doesn't lock in as securely as I'd like, and there's a slight wobble or movement that can be quite annoying during use. Aside from that issue, the adapter seems legit and performs as expected.
