Prevue Pet Products 3201 Large Wood Platform for Small Animal Cages

We were given a 6 yr. old chinchilla from a family member that could no longer keep him and they gave us a nice cage with plastic ledges. Chinchy (that's his name) chews the ledges and one broke. I could not find any replacements online, but this wood platform seemed nice, so I gave it a try. Although he has chewed all the sides of it, it is still holding strong. It is Chinchy's favorite ledge; he doesn't even sit on the plastic ones anymore. It looks nice, easy to clean and was easy to install. I will definitely buy a few more. I imagine he'll eventually chew the platform down to where it will be too small, but for now it works great!

I got this for my chinchilla's cage and it's a really good size. Since he likes to jump around a lot, the screws do come loose and he then uses it like a diving bored lol. Overall I do like it and plan on getting at least 2 more.

This works well in my pigeon's cage, as he likes to sit on shelves. My only complaint is that it came in a cardboard box with the hardware thrown in loose. Both the screws were there, but there was one washer missing. Otherwise stays attached to cage and is hardy. I recommend putting some sort of makeshift cover over it that you can change out every day if you have the kind of pet that poops all over everything.I think this is especially great for largish birds, but I wouldn't buy it for a rodent or any other small animal that chews.Yes, the price is a little steep considering the materials, but I don't have a saw or a workshop so I'm happy to buy it from somebody who does.

I bought two of these platforms for a pigeon that is unable to fly. He uses these platforms to get around vertically in his cage. They support his weight well, and there is plenty of room for him to turn around and sit comfortably.I have also recently placed one of these platforms in a cage with an African Grey Parrot with unrepaired broken legs. She can climb a bit, and enjoys sitting in various areas of her cage. Since the platform is built for rabbits and chinchillas, and these animals chew on cage furniture, it should be safe for parrots to chew, as well. For the price, it is well-built and sturdy. A good option for animals that need more than rounded perches made from branches or dowel rods.

I am beyond disappointed. I got this for my pet pigeon because I had a difficult finding a perch that was a good size. I should've looked at the reviews better, because apparently this piece of garbage has been giving a lot of other people the same problem. First of all, this thing arrived 4 days late. I was excited to finally get it, and when I open the box, what am i greeted with? No screws to attach the damned thing to the cage! How am I supposed to use this without the screws? They were clearly advertised in the picture, and yet me and many other people did not receive all that we paid for. What do they expect us to do? Make it float in midair? Should we hold it up with our hands for our animals to use it? This wasn't a super cheap product, and yet is isn't very well made. The wood is very splintery and dusty, the one in the picture looks nice and smooth compared to the rough piece of wood I recieved. I played 16 dollars for a piece of dusty old wood, can you believe it? How this is allowed to be sold on this site is beyond me. DO NOT BUY THIS. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

My chinchillas love these platforms. They do chew on them but even with regular chewing they have yet to destroy them, which is saying something. They attach and come off easily which makes it simple to move them around and keep the cage environment new and interesting. The chinchillas like to jump excitedly around the cage and these hold up very well. I also have not had them damage the bars of the cage, which has happened with other products.

These platforms are well-made & support themselves well, however, when I first ordered 2, one of the packages was torn & missing the screws to attach it to the cage. When I contacted the manufacturer for replacements, they quickly sent them, but when they arrived, one of the packages was AGAIN missing the screws. I used the replacements for one to attach the originals, and they work well in my rat's cage. The only other downside is that they get dirty very quickly, but that's really to be expected with any wooden platform; for the price, I won't be ordering again. Not the worst, not the best.

We’ve had this for years and it’s still holding up. It a bit gnawed on from our chinchilla but still a great platform!

The product is great, but plan to provide your own hardware.I am giving this 5* because the product is great...unfortunately they package it into this really flimsy plastic that is not suited to the product, so what happens is it tears and the HARDWARE (2 bolts, 4 washers, 2 wingnuts) fall out.I ordered 2 small, and 1 large, I was missing 1 set (of 3). Amazon sent a replacement...it was also missing the Hardware.

The wooden part is well made but both of the ones I bought didn't come with any of the attachment parts (advertised to be included on the packaging), essentially meaning I can't use them. Pretty disappointed. Not sure how this was managed considering they were both still sealed.
