Well worth it
So I've only had this for a couple hours. Ones I've tried in the past didn't seem to work right. However. This one seems to be working great. It's definitely off a few degrees. It's set at 82° f, thermometer that I have in there says it's 85° f, but the temp gum reads between 85° f to 90° f. Which actually worms greatly for her. I did notice the light finally dimmed. It was at 82° for over an hour before it dimmed. I noticed my other thermastats different brands ( bn link, two different kinds from bn link ) were actually not dimming them but turning the heating element off which could potentially cause more issues in the long run stressing the equipment turning off cooling down then turning back on re heating multiple times through the day where this one dims down to keep and maintain the temperature instead of rapidly changing through out the day. So far I'm happy with it. Will do an update in a few months If there's any changes. Shipping was on time. Nothing damaged from what I can see. Overall happy with purchase. Maybe I'll be able to relax a little more now. I'm constantly checking her Temps due to issues with other products.

Affordable, accurate and easy to use!!!!
Product review on the ReptiZoo PID Mini thermostat. Absolutely love these! We use DHP day and night. Day temp set to 87° and night temp 81°. It gradually heats the enclosure, which seems more natural to me instead of 81°, BOOM, 10 mins later 87°. It's 5:30am in Central Florida and I just set the 2 thermostats to 87° for the day. The ambient temperature will reach 87° around 10am and be maintained throughout the day. The thermostats do allow a 5° temperature variation DOWN, but when I check my Govee's there is not major fluctuation, maybe a degree or less. See pics. Don't mind the temps looking off, I have my Govee's in odd spots right now so they look low but they're more on the cool side right now, but you can see in the graphs they are no more than a 1°F temperature drop at any point. We tried Pymeter dimming thermostats and loved them, but they emit a high tone that drove my dog nuts. Then we tried Inkbird, but they were on/off, and even though we had it to turn off at only 0.5° below the set temperature, the temperature fluctuation was ridiculous. It would often get 6-8° below and up to 4° higher than our set temp. Then we tried CavaChew and they were ehhhh. They allow that same 5° temperature fluctuation as the ReptiZoo but they really had fluctuations that I was able to measure with our Govee's, so ambient temp fluctuated a lot. We have our probes dangling beneath the DHP to get accurate heating temps (took some playing around with for correct basking temperatures), but after a day or 2 we got it. They are inexpensive, super easy to use and set up. Both our BP noodles now come out to bask or explore nightly as soon as the lights turn off and don't go back to their hides til the sun comes up. We do routinely measure the basking areas to ensure they aren't too hot, and never exceed 93° at night. They hide all day, so basking temps are a bit higher during the day, but they never come out during the day. We were previously using CHE for daytime and DHP for night, but switched solely to DHP 24/7 and it's worked wonders. Temps are on point, humidity is on point (higher right now for shedding), and not over drying our substrate. We're only having to add water once a week and mix the substrate every 4 days. Overall, love these thermostats and highly recommend them. We will be switching to PVC 4x2x2 by the end of the year and using radiant heat panels, so I'm going to have to research how these thermostats work with those as far as probe placement and accuracy. Excited to see what's to come.

Do NOT rely on this thermostat alone! It is inaccurate!
I would NOT rely on this thermostat for your temps, especially the basking spot. It is not accurate and is off by several degrees. I have changed placement of the probe several times, and ran several different trial and error tests with this dimmer to ensure it’s not just a placement area of the sensor probe throwing the temps off. I had this set to 88° and it quickly sky rocketed to 112°. I used a 100w halogen bulb, as many others often use. I even tried changing the dome size of the bulb. But yet, it’s still extremely unreliable and I would not purchase again. If you buy this, do not rely on the setting you set it to and always have a temp gun, this device could very easily harm your reptile. The dimming function does work, but it’s just not enough. By the time it shoots up well above what I have it set to, it takes forever to cool off. I have been stressed and eyeing my ball pythons basking spot several times a day, using my temp gun to ensure it’s not too hot for her. I found a sweet spot (I’d like to think) I have it set on 75° and it reads about 90° on her basking spot with my temp gun, and the thermostat itself reads 83°. Along with changing probe placement- I changed the basking surface, changed bulb placement, changed domes, changed placement of the lamp itself- which is about 9 inches from my basking spot, and the probe is placed on the basking surface but 2 inches away from the main beam of the bulb as if it’s placed directly under the beam it will overheat way worse. I have tried everything I know, and I am not happy with this product. If I didn’t have a temp gun and knew accuracy varies with all thermostats, my noodle could have been severely injured from burns- thankfully I’m educated. But I am beyond shocked at how inaccurate this dimming thermostat is compared to my others. Please be mindful if you buy this, have a temp gun, and do not trust the readings you set it to. My ball pythons basking spot should be around 93°, and I have the thermostat set to 75° which reads 90° with my temp gun.

They sent me a NEW one after it had Stopped working after 2 months
They did send a replacement which I GREATLY APPRECIATED! It was tedious getting to the point of them sending a replacement there was a Lot of back & forth messaging, but we got there & just n Time to save my plants from freezing. We REALLY LIKE the Dimmer, we have it on our baby chicks & with it we don't have to worry about them getting too hot or too cold. They're growing up & so we're dropping their temp slowly down. This will allow them to adjust to the cold weather without being shocked by this EXTREME cold we've had. We just remove more covering & that let's it cool down more. Or raise the heat lamp if we need to. This is the second batch of baby chicks we've raised under this dimmer. I LOVE Knowing what the temp is! It worked fine until the other day it stopped working after only two (2) months. I'm HIGHLY Disappointed. Need to get a replacement, will look for another brand.

Mr Lizard loves it
Excellent thermostat! I use it for my crested gecko; he stays comfortable within his preferred temperature range.

Heats up gradually! Love it
Mine came in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, I don’t find it be a huge issue personally I just google the temps I need. Setting the thermostat wasn’t difficult at all. It heats gradually. I set it up right away and turned it off after it stayed at the temperature I wanted for about 20 minutes! I let my bulb cool down completely and did another test run to be sure my settings stayed and it doesn’t get too hot for my frogs. I was skeptical about the mixed reviews and it also being my first ever dimming thermostat I’ve ever purchased. I have a dual dome one side is for my ceramic heat bulb (60W) and the other side my uvb bulb. I feel at ease knowing that my frogs will be okay while I’m at work using the dimmer rather then wondering in a panic! I will update my review in a few months if anything has changed!

Stopped working
I’ve had this for about 1 month and it was working beautifully…until it didn’t. It just completely stopped working. I’m waiting to hear back from the company. I would love to try another one.
