A bargain at twice the price.
My wife got me this for Christmas (along with a G) because she knew I was interested in playing Irish music on the Harmonica. I already had a standard Richter in C, so I knew that this was a good value harp. Is it going to match the best Suzuki, Hohner or Seydel produce? I kind of doubt it.. but this is an excellent starter instrument that will get you a long way before you start bumping into its limits, and far better than what you will get from Hohner for the same price.I suppose I should mention what Paddy is.. in this case, it is short for Paddy Richter tuning... A variant of the standard Richter tuning, it raises the third blow hole (a duplicate of the 2 draw) a tone which makes it much easier to play Irish Tunes on it (And other melodies). You are going to want one in G and one in D (and if you have spare change, an A and C would occasionally be useful). In any case, there are other tunings you could try if you want to play Irish music (solo/orchestra, melody maker (from Lee Oskar), major cross tunings, etc.), but Paddy Richter has probably become the most common, both because it was invented and promoted by Brendan Power and because it is relatively easy to modify the standard blues harp to this tuning.

Paddy Richter tuning nice option for playing Celtic or bluegrass songs
This Paddy Richter tuned Easttop harmonica feels solid, well constructed. It played well out of the box. I have already enjoyed playing it with bluegrass songs. It replaces the redundant 3-blow of standard Richter tuning with a different note (the 6th) one step up (which is missing from the standard Richter tuning). This makes it better for playing melodies in 1st position (same key as the song). It was designed for Irish music and is not appropriate for playing blues, but I think it can probably work with lots of pop songs if you're playing melodies one note at a time. The main disadvantage is that you can no longer play nice chords on the low end of harp without blocking the 3-hole with your tongue (which can be tricky for inexperienced players). That's why it's best suited for runs of notes played one at a time, instead of playing chords or a mix of single notes and chords. My only negative about this harp is that its cover plates are either made from aluminum or their painted surface makes them non-magnetic. This is a problem for me because my main harmonica rack is magnetic, and I have to use one of my old school racks. (I've gotten lazy, being able to quickly pop a harp off the magnetic rack and put new one in without going through the wrestling match entailed with the spring racks.) Good value for the money otherwise.

Love this product
Great Harmonica. User friendly for beginners as it's paddy C.It does take me a bit time to make a single sound clear, but it's the case for all beginners on 10 hole/20 tone model. It deserves a 5 star for sure.

Excellent as always!
Great product and everything arrived safely and in very good time! Have the same Harmonica in different Keys and they are all very reliable and work well.

Very pleased. Plays very well and great price tag.
I've only been playing the harmonica for a few months. I got a Fender Blues Deluxe for my son for about $12. I'm kind of disappointed in that one. It plays ok ... at best. But, it was ok as a starter. Next I got a Hohner Special 20 for almost $40. Very pleased with it. Plays well, bends well, very responsive. I had been hesitant to try this brand because they are less expensive and, after the luck that I had with the other two, I didn't want a cheap, low quality harmonica. But, I've been very pleased with this one since it came in a few days ago. I like the Paddy tuning a lot (it's nice to have the 6th below the tonic. It seems to open up a lot more possibilities. I expect within the next few years I'll be buying more from this company.

not very good, but adjustable
It's really not a very good harmonica but it's the only one I can find on amazon with a paddy pitcher tune. The comb is much lower than the rim, which causes leakage and makes it very hard to play. I have a low end fender(10$) and a hohner marine band. Both are much much easier to play than this one. I can easily play with them for more than half an hour but I can't hold more than one minute for this east top harmonica.Added comments: I changed my rating from 2 star to 4 star. I found the comb can be adjusted once you open the hood. Release all the screws on the plate and push the comb to the top. Problem solved! I think their assembling quality is not good. But the soud is rich, easy to bend. Once my comb adjusted, it's much easier to play with.

Very Surprised at the quality!
At first I was not fully sold on East top brand but, I thought I would give it a try. I have always played Hohner harmonicas and always trusted them. However, boy was I surprised! The quality of this instrument and the sound really had me in shock. Exactly like Hohner but heavier, bright sounding, and air tight! A real steal for the price! I could not believe it! I would recommend this harmonica for anyone looking to play Irish, or Celtic Music! Hohner does not have one on the market! Seriously get this one! You will be pleased!

Not very good quality
If you know anything about harmonicas, these are sub standard harmonicas. Their tone is mediocre at best. If you read positive reviews, I can assure you they are not very good players. Do not get caught up by the hype on these harmonicas. Look where they are made and do your research on what real players use...not this brand....

Good value
The instrument received was in tune, comfortable and easy to play. It cost much less than other comparable ‘paddy’ tuned harmonicas .

Quality is good
Very good quality for the price. Bends well. Won't overblow though out of the box, but that's expected.
