Better Then The First Movie (Phoenix Priestess) More In Tone With TV Series
While I loved Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess when it was first Released On Blu-Ray I like this movie more then the first. It feels more in line with TV series, like it could have been a 4 episode arc instead of just a stand alone movie.Although their mite be a continuity spoiler in the last battle scene (I have to check the last four episodes before the Fairy Tail Zero arc)The character designs are a little more fuller and robust, same goes for the color palette then the TV Series as to be expected of an original story made for Movie theaters.Sound design was also upscaled nicely for the theatrical experience but there didn't seem to be any major changes to the score to set it above either runs of the TV series (which I guess I'm not really mad at)And there's a nice precredit scene setting up the 3rd and final TV series run, that's been semi-announced but the release date should be confirmed when series creator Hiro Mashima announced his next new manga series project in April 2018

Good but first one was better.
Having seen this movie twice in theatres I already knew what to expect and while it is enjoyable there are some cons. The first thing was the wait. This film was first announced on May 2, 2015 and opened in Japan on May 6,2017 and it wasn’t worth the wait. Like in the first movie, this story revolves around a mysterious girl with an unclear past( who like Eclair, Zeref, Natsu and pretty much every character is from 400 yrs ago. But neither the movie or the main Fairy Tail story goes in much depth). The story I’m assuming is right after the Fairy Tail guild is reformed (seeing as how the new guild is already finished) but before Markarov is rescued so I’m assuming Erza is the official 7th master even though it’s never mentioned. The fanserive is beyond extreme in this film (lots of boobs and ero situations) and the story as a whole leaves more questions than answers. One pro to this film though is that you can watch it alone without dumb fan girls screaming the whole time. The first time I saw this, August 16, the girls were screaming so loudly when Brandish got some screen time you couldn’t hear what she said and several guys had to yell “Shut up!” To quite them down. Fun fact: the photos I have show the actual theater poster from the theater. I had to drive over 100 miles each time to go see the movie and went the second time (August 19) with the intention of getting the poster. The manager said they could give it to me the next day so I had to drive ANOTHER 200+ miles to get it!

Fairy tail fan!
I have no idea what the previous commenter is on about. We bought the digital version, it's in English and includes English captions (aka subtitles). They might have wanted subtitles in other languages, no idea as their comment wasn't clear enough. In regards to the return process, all they need to do is contact customer service by phone, chat or email and they are always more than helpful. This isn't a reason to rate a movie a 1 star!!Regarding the movie, I have been looking forward to it for sooo long and i am not disappointed!!It was great to watch natsu go all out once more and see our favorite characters in action. :)It just makes us even more anxious for the series return!Definitely worth watching for any Fairy tail fan!

Hopefully helps with watch order questions
Amazing movie! So for anyone confused on some of the events in the movie like Carla and Lucy's abilities you will need to watch the first couple of episodes of season 9 of Fairy Tail. This movie was release before the launch of the season so it could set up the finale. Sadly they cut things out so it would not spoil the final season. I believe this movie should be watched about 1/4 of the way through the Alvarez story arc. Due to the fact of the end credits. I don't want to spoil too much but I just wanted to give my insight to the watch order

It's ok
I bought this because I love fairytail, but this movie is just ok. It's not part of a main storyline or anything so it can definitely be skipped...or not depends on whether you would feel like you missed out if you didn't see it.
