Nat Geo Wild Animal Atlas: Earth's Astonishing Animals and Where They Live

Lovely animal book
My 5 year old really enjoys this book and looking at the map of where animals live. However I was expecting a little bit more, thought there'd be more larger photos of animals rather than just one per continent and a five very small ones. My son still loves it though.

Great of young minds.
Produced by Nat Geo you know that it is going to be good. The information and maps are ideal for the younger members of the family. I bought it for our 4 year old grandson and he loves it, especially the maps and finding where all the animals live, an ideal precursor to a visit to the zoo.

A fantastic book with amazing photographs
This is a beautifully illustrated atlas of wild animals. My children love looking at it to find out about different animals and where they live. It has a sturdy cover which protects its contents. I would recommend this title to others wanting a lovely book about animals with fantastic pictures.

Beautiful first Animal Atlas
Beautifully laid out large but light weight book. Beautifully illustrated with colour photographs through out. The only problems I have found with this book is that when it says it is a National Geographic Kids book it appears to mean about 7 - 12 year old (ish). Not as in depth as I was hoping for - but then given who it turns out this book is aimed at I am not so surprised. The Atlas side of this book is informative for younger readers but does not include all countries for example New Zealand is not mentioned at all. The animal information side gives brief basic details of key species. Over all a good first animal atlas for mid-aged kids.

This is not an atlas but a great way for children to learn - not just about the animals but where they come from and the world they live in. Suitable for ages 4/5 onwards.

Big book filled with lots of information for your child to learn
I have always believed that ready with your kids is important so I buy a lot of books for my son. We bought several books in the National Geographic series and we love them all. They are packed with interesting facts and pictures. My son loves reading / looking at the books and we are happy that he is loving to read and learning at the same time. This book National Geographic Wild Animals Atlas is a book that is approx. 14 inches tall by 10 1/2 wide. It has many different areas to talk with your child about from different parts of the world, different climates, endangered animals, pictures and facts to learn. You can use this book to discuss a variety of information. My son also loves maps and there are several different types of maps in this book, giving us an opportunity to talk about how maps can be used to show us many different aspects, not just for directions. I am a happy mother and have a happy son so this is a win win for me.I hope my review has helped, if it has please push the button below. Thank you and God bless.

Lovely first atlas
My six-year-old loves this atlas, with little snippets of information on animals and geography. It's a good first atlas to understanding the world, its fauna and flora. My only complaint might be the size, it is very big so not always easy to handle

Disappointed
I bought my son this atlas hoping that it would be similar to one from my childhood. The pictures are indeed large and glossy and my 6-yo son likes them BUT the book is short, not very informative and there are very few animals photographed.I'm sure that there are hundrends of better choices,
