DEWALT DCM575X1 54 V XR Flex Volt Chain Saw - Yellow/Black

Only 3 star so far, will say more later, after some use.. But for £500, you would have expected at absolute minimum, a little 150 ml starter bottle of chainsaw oil with the saw. I've bought cheaper saws before and ended up with over £100+ worth of extras !! All you get with this is an awful lot ocardboard to get rid off. Bloody cheapskates. I'm lucky, chain oil only took me minutes to get, but next poor git might not have it so easy..Now been using mine for 6 months, still going strong, used daily for logging for wood burner, I only take already seasoned hard wood trees, if possible, saw has no problems taking out 1m trees, power pack still OK, even after all those charges, just make sure it's not left flat for long, I re-charge mine asap, only problem I've had so far is a few times pack has been too hot to charge immediately, mine is charged through an inverter connected to 12volt batteries/solar panels, so is best charged in daylight hours. I Live on a canal boat, apart from the solar power system, this is the best £500 I've spent on boat so far.I still reckon that no chain oil with new saw is just plain stupid and miserly by DE Walt..Now two years old, been used nearly everyday, often pushed hard on 2 foot, air seasoned, still standing oaks..First powerpack still at about 95%, I charge mine ASAP, seems to work to keep packs good.With 3 of the 9amh packs and charging, you can keep the saw going non-stop all day, which if you do try, make sure you pack chain oil, you'll probably need some.Easily usable by small women, being electric, it's very smooth, balances well.Worth every penny.14/2/2022Still going strong, still easily does 2 days wooding off one power pack, had problem with worn drive cog, cost £3.50 with postage, took 30 minutes to totally strip and check/clean saw while replacing drive cog, easy to do, drive motor is tiny !!.Would recommend to pro-ams, its not as toughly built as stihl/husky etc, but tough enough that bits dont break when it gets dropped etc, reckon mine has done over 600 hours work now, i rotate through 4 different chains,us a little 12 sharpener for tweaking chains often, makes huge difference in what will always be a low power saw, only improvement would be a remote battery on belt or back and a flying power lead, tempted to make one myself, 4ft of very high grade heavy copper or silver cable and an old dead battery shell, voilà,saw would only weigh 6lbs then !!!If you going to buy a battery saw for lots of serious non pro work, the DCM575 is worth every penny..

Bought this for my son who is using it to chop logs for our open fire. He is impressed with this chainsaw- he has 2 other larger petrol chainsaws but says this cuts just as well and is easier and lighter to handle with the same power. We bought am extra battery for it just for convenience as we had a lot of wood to cut and once I got my son started I wanted to keep hom at it!!!
