10x 5 amp fuse consumer unit fuse box distribution board lighting 5A cartridge fuses BS1361

Not really a whole lot I can say about fuses but will try my best....First of all these are a good deal and sure as hell beats paying B&Q £3 for a single 5 amp cartridge fuse! Also it's always the way that you will never have the right fuse when one blows and the fuse will always blow at the worst possible moment so having a supply of them handy is a good idea.I bought these because we just moved into a old house that had been wired by the previous owner who did not have the first idea what he was doing.... honestly you have no idea how bad and literally dangerous this guy was. Every single fuse in the consumer unit from 5 amp right up to the 30 amp cooker one contained a dead / pre blown fuse that he had wrapped in wire (not even fuse wire) so as I say dangerous and because of this one of our 22 50w hallogen spotlights that were running of the same single 5 amp fuse went on fire and didn't blow the fuse because essentially he had created a very slow blow fuse assuming it would have ever blown.... so took a while to work out his madness and kept blowing fuses until I eventually worked it out. Anyways that's my tale of woe over....These blow when something is unsafe as I have personally tested this and they work the rest of the time perfectly so a good quality fuse. Excellent price for a pack of 10 so can highly recommend.

OK so lights blew the fuse and we had no lights upsatirs. I went to BandQ (like ya do) and paid £5 for 1 as these are special size for fuse boxes.Not the best price for sure, so when the bloody thing blew the very next day I was fuming! We spent 3-5 days without lights upstairs and relied upon lamps instead.The I found these little beauties. Thank goodness, I am satisfied and will ensure I never run out of fuses again.Thank you.

What can you say - they are 5amp fuses for the indoor electric circuit box. They were good quality and cheapest price. These are things you need when you do stupid things like cut through the hedge trimmer cable!! Before I purchased a safety plug socket to use to plug outdoor electric items into. You think you'll never do it - but you will at some point then you will be looking for a fat 5amp fuse to fit the white electric box.At least we have a good supply of all fuses for the box now.
