Matthew AffronMatisse in the 1930s

A somewhat limited, but beautiful book
The book provides a quite thorough look at but a rather small part of Matisse's corpus, and most would say not part of his greatest works. It is nevertheless a learned work, with knowledgeable authors who illuminate much of this limited scope of the artist's output, and for a Matisse fan is therefore of value. As an accompaniment to an exhibition, the book does not purport to present every work of the 1930s. In summary, a very good, if limited, book.

Rapid delivery but arrived damaged.
Matisse in the 1930’s is an excellent book of the current exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.I was really looking surprised at how fast it was delivered but when I unpacked it I noticed that the top corners of the book were bent. See photos. The box it came in wasn’t damaged so I wonder if it was packed in that condition. There was no inner protection. The contents of the book are the most important, and I am happy with the quality of the material.
