These thermostat's work as they are designed for
My original thermostat seemed to be okay, as it would short when cold but when it warmed to open it stayed at around 50 or 55 k ohm. These work as they should, I included the connectors on my frig and the unit to make changing this part out easier in the future. I used freeze spray to make sure the units would close when cold, it does take a bit to get cold enough and short. They do work well!

OEM parts like this cost a small fortune from the manufacturer. And this is the exact same item for a fraction of the cost. And it works just like the OEM version. If something works the same and costs a whole lot less, then *I* feel better too!
