Yamaha YRS302BIII Soprano Recorder

We bought the Yamaha YRS302BIII soprano recorder for our five-year-old after she kept saying she wanted to learn the flute. It has proved to be a sensible (and affordable) place to start. The quality is excellent - it feels solid, well finished and exactly what you’d expect from Yamaha, even at this entry level. The recorder looks great and comes with a cleaning rod and storage case. These are thoughtful additions which make it easy to look after between practice sessions. It’s light and comfortable for small hands, and the finger holes are well positioned, making it manageable for younger children who are just starting out. As you’d expect, there’s still plenty of practice needed - and that does mean the occasional bout of enthusiastic but squeaky 'music' filling the house - but she genuinely enjoys playing it, which is the most important thing. It feels like a proper instrument rather than a toy, which helps keep her engaged and taking it seriously. A great-quality starter recorder that’s well suited to younger children and school-age beginners, and a much better first step than jumping straight into more complex instruments.

Sounds like my recorder when I was a young child. Brill.

Good quality recorder

Brilliant budget recorder. Perfect for starting off with at Centre for Young Musicians.

Excellent quality recorder, much better than the original one we purchased from a large toy superstore. It comes with a faux suede case and a cleaning kit. The cleaning kit alone is worth it's weight and has been really helpful in getting a good tight seal on the joints. This recorder is stored without dismantling in it's full size case. A quality case that has seen some bashing about whilst stored at school, yet held itself together very well. So well in fact, that the recorder is going to act as a very good hand-me-down to our younger daughter five years later. It's showing little sign of wear and still in excellent condition.

I was expecting a "warmer" sound but overall it does the job. It comes with a nice case though.

Unsere Flötenlehrerin war einverstanden, dass für den Anfang auch eine Plastikflöte reicht. Dieses Modell von Yamaha haben wir ausgewählt, weil es im Gegensatz zu anderen Plastikflöten recht voll klingt, schön aussieht aber nicht zu sehr nach Spielzeug (in unseren Augen wichtig für den respektvollen Umgang mit einem Instrument) und zu einem super Preis verkauft wird. Klar gibt es auch billigere, aber wie schon gesagt, soll damit ernsthafter Instrumentalunterricht erfolgen und nicht nur rumgespielt werden. Das Kind kommt gut mit der Flöte zurecht. Einzig den mitgelieferten "Stoff"-Sack (Segeltuch-Haptik aus Plastik) haben wir gegen eine andere schöne Tasche ausgetauscht. Zudem liegt noch ein Wischerstäbchen bei, in das ein kleines Stoffstück geklemmt werden muss um wischen zu können. Da wäre es schön gewesen, dieses mitzuliefern, dann macht man nichts falsch. Wir haben erst einen Jersey-Rest verwendet, der aber irgendwie nie die richtige Größe hatte und nun benutzen wir ein anderes Wischerstäbchen, dem ein Läppchen (ähnlich einem Fensterleder, nur dünner) beilag. Im Lieferumfang ist außerdem ein kleines Töpfchen Korkfett. Auch wenn diese Plastikflöte kein Kork hat, lässt sie sich in 3 Teile zerlegen und mit dem Fett können die Verbindungsstücke geschmeidig gehalten werden.

Es la mejor flauta dulce de plástico que he podido probar. Su sonido es mucho mejor que el de otras flautas de plástico (e incluso algunas de madera) más baratas. Lo que sí hay que tener en cuenta, es que debido a su construcción al principio puede ser algo más difícil obtener un sonido "limpio", pero después de algo de práctica se agradece la calidad. Muchos músicos profesionales usan flautas dulces de la serie "300" de Yamaha como sus segundas flautas para practicar con tranquilidad (en caso de flautas de madera el tiempo de tocarlas suele ser limitado, no se pueden usar durante mucho rato). La flauta viene con un estuche (una bolsa de tela de algodón) muy cómodo para guardarla y poder llevarla a todos lados, y además con un botecito de crema para poner en la unión entre las tres partes de la flauta, un palillo para limpiarla y una hoja con instrucciones. Como todas las flautas de plástico suele congestionarse un poco por la humedad provocada por el aire soplado, cada x minutos/cuartos de hora hay que sacudirla para sacar el exceso de agua de su interior y poder seguir tocando con placer - esto no se considera un defecto, es algo normal en estas flautas. Este fenómeno se nota más cuando en la habitación hace frío. Resumiendo, una flauta muy buena, con el sonido sorprendentemente agradable teniendo en cuenta que es una flauta de plástico.

Super flûte à bec Yamaha – un vrai plaisir à jouer ! J’ai acheté la Yamaha YRS302BIII – Flûte à bec soprano en résine récemment et j’en suis vraiment très content. La flûte est facile à prendre en main, le son est clair, stable et agréable, même pour un débutant comme moi. La finition est sérieuse, la sensation en main est confortable et la juste intonation permet de jouer sans difficulté. Que ce soit en entraînement quotidien ou pour des morceaux simples, elle répond bien et donne une belle musicalité. Je recommande vivement ce modèle à tous ceux qui cherchent une flûte à bec de bonne qualité, fiable et accessible, que ce soit pour les débutants ou les musiciens plus expérimentés.
