Cheap Plastic
I ordered this for my Suzuki M109r - first impression was that it looked good and would match my pegs. I opened it and got out to the garage and ran into a few issues -1st - It does not just "fit right over" the shift peg. The peg is too large with the stock cover still on and far too small with the stock rubber cover removed. I read online that you can wrap electrical tape around the bare peg in order to make the cover fit, so I did that and slid the cover on. It felt snug and secure.2nd - with the cover in place, there is a small allen screw to tighten - and I mean small! The part did not come with an allen key for the job so I had to buy a precision screwdriver set (for computers/electronics) in order to find one small enough.3rd - Upon starting to turn the screw i heard a snap - the ring at the end of the peg cover completely broke off the peg cover. It was it this point that I realized that this thing is a just a plastic piece of crap.I would stay away.

Good news and bad news--mostly bad
The good news: if this shift peg cover actually fits and stays on, it might look better than the black rubber OEM cover. And on some bikes, it could lengthen the peg a bit, making shifting a little easier. The bad news: the set screw is poorly designed in several ways. The tiny hex fitting requires a rare size Allen wrench that few sets include. And it does very little to actually secure the cover on the shifting peg, no matter how tight you crank it down. More bad news: if the shaft on your shift peg isn't very close to the same size as the inside of the cover, it will be loose. If the fit is pretty tight, the rubber insert gets distorted and doesn't stay centered in the slots of the frame. The worst news: this one cracked shortly after being installed, so I put the old OEM rubber sleeve back on and returned the poorly designed, overpriced Kuryakyn cover for a refund.

Don't worry if it is not a perfect fit
Matches all of my Kury Iso grips and pegs nicely. Not a perfect fit for 2003 Suzuki Intruder Volusia. But there is a workaround... What you can do is cut off the rubber from shifter and then build it back by using a bicycle inner tube. Cut innertube open, lay out flat and cut it to width, wash of talc and dry. Coat one side with an industrial rubber cement such as Pliobond. Wait until slight tacky. Be sure to clean shifter of residual glue and degrease it. Coat metal shifter with Pliiobond and wait for it to dry out a bit. Wrap rubber innertube around metal shifter until it is the correct width for the Kury Peg Cover to tightly slip over it. Wait a moment for things to firm up. Coat the inside of Kury Peg Cover and the outside of the new rubber on the shifter with Pliobond to act as a lubricant and to also help it bond.Do not push straight on, instead rotate it in the same direction as the wrapped innertube to prevent it from unwinding. Tighten the hex head. I would recommend waiting a day for things to cure before going for a ride. Hope this helps!

Kuryakyn Shift Peg Covers
I'm getting a little tired of buying Kuryakyn products that either don't fit right or break upon installation. I purchased this cover for my 2010 Yamaha Raider. Although the Amazon ad says it's for a Raider, when you look at the packaging there is no fitment information for Raiders, Stratoliners or Roadliners as advertised. I read the instructions and attempted to put it on anyway. After getting the thing on the bare shifter peg, I attempted to tighten the tiny set screw that is supposed to keep the cover from moving around on the peg and guess what? The metal cage that contains the rubber insert is so chintzy and thin that it snapped the cage, rendering the entire unit useless. I have had some luck with Kuryakyn products before, but it has been with only two out of the four items that I have purchased. If I buy any more Kuryakyn products, I will have to rely on the recommendation of someone who has already purchased it and thinks it's a good product. I spent nearly 30 dollars on this shifter cover including shipping, and consider it a total waste of money. Kuryakyn ought to wise up and make these motorcycle items strong enough to withstand the strength of a large male biker. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a quality product, as opposed to a piece of junk crap. BTW, the Amazon ad says "covers" not cover. It implies you get two of them for $22, not one. Kuryakyn will not be getting any more of my money anytime soon.

One thing to make this better would be to provide the hex wrench to fit the hex screw as its such a small size I could not find one and had to improvise to get it to work. Other than that its a good deal and looks nice on the bike, thanks.

Does not fit 13 yamaha vstar 650
This does not fit a 2013 yamaha vstar 650 custom well. The iso rubber sticks out leaving a gap at the base of the shifter. Definitely a defective or incompatible part.

Value and looks.
Sharp looking. The most difficult part was pulling out the rubber inserts at the end. You have to use some sort of tool. I used an off set brad puller. And be careful to not stab your self in the hand. The side without the set screw is the most difficult. After all that, it looks great and most of all is't got a softer touch to my boot. I also bought the matching brake peg cover to maintain continuity.
