Robust & quite well-made. Lightweight. Pail can be awkward to fit, can fall off if not fitted exactly. Needs rear access.
First impressions on this were very good, but long term use has revealed some niggles and I have since edited my review. For a lightweight chair it's surprisingly sturdy. The legs unfold and are pulled in to place, two gutter clips with swing latches click in to place on the legs to hold it open and prevent it from folding back.As mentioned by others the well-made grey pail only fits and removes via the back of the chair. It's held in place by two 'rails' fitted under the chair. This is a problem if you want to tuck the commode discreetly in to the corner of a room. You need to have 12" of access at the rear to be able to slot the chair in.Worse, the pail has slipped out of position when it has had contents in. Luckily, every time this has happened it has landed upright with contents intact. Do make sure the pail is correctly positioned on the rails and not just held by the very edge.I do prefer a top loading commode design, which is much quicker and less fiddly. The pail of this commode has to be removed from the guide rails to remove the lid. This makes it awkward to use in a hurry. The seat does not lift, which makes it awkward to clean thoroughly. It is slightly narrower than my other model and consequently, slightly less stable.I think buyers have to be realistic in what they expect for their money with this. However, having purchased an alternative design, I would not purchase this design again. The way the pail is stored could be better. It's quite a narrow chair, if you are short with a high BMI you may struggle to fit in to it. I am tall with 42" hips and found it a snug fit, but not tight - in my opinion 44" would be the maximum hip size for this.I haven't had any problem with the pail slipping out of place and as it is held horizontally on rails, it is difficult to see how this could happen.I can only think that those that have managed to move the pail must be sitting down very heavily and perhaps rocking the chair backwards as they do so, which would cause the pail to shift. A more substantial commode would seem to be the answer if they cannot sit down gently.I am tall so wondered if I would have any problems in rising from the chair - the answer is no, the arms are very sturdy. I really like the fact that the lid of the pail is recessed in. This means that the pail can be carried at a slight angle without spilling the contents - the conventional pails on chair commodes aren't usually designed like this and sit on top, providing no spillage protection. The only disadvantage to the design is that the pail has to be removed from the chair to re-fit the lid snugly and prevent odours escaping, etc. It isn't possible to slide the lid into place with the pail in situ. The chair can be easily disguised by having a throw placed over it, or folded up if not required. When being carried folded it is possible to lean on it and use it as you would a walking stick, which is extremely useful for independent living disabled users. The seat doesn't lift but is easy to wipe clean and robust - and more comfortable than that of my wooden commode, which was six times the price.Summary: For the price, an excellent value and surprisingly robust chair that offers secure, stable use.

Z-Tec Commode
This commode chair is of a good quality, and very sturdy. It is easy to put together and of a reasonable height. There are two issues I have with this chair which is the potty is put in and removed from the back, which means if you have the chair against the wall, you have to move the entire chair to remove the potty. The second issue I have is the potty lid when it is on is under the seat, so to use it you have to remove the potty to remove the lid then put the potty back without the lid, then take the potty out to empty it.I take off the lid and just place it over the seat opening to cover the potty when not in use.Other than these 2 niggles which I suspect is true of other commodes, this commode is good value for money.

Great value, rather small but well made
I hook a 50cm bungee cord to each end of the front seat support bar, then loop it behind the pan to hold it in place on it's slide rails, otherwise this rather small folding chair is strong, well made and great value for money. It's not suitable for a large person though, check the width between the arms if in any doubt.

I also felt that the 'bucket' slid out far too easily when we first got it out and set it ...
narrow seating area for larger person. Doesn't meet the needs so sending back. I also felt that the 'bucket' slid out far too easily when we first got it out and set it up. I felt that the possibility of a mishap was quite high. It is ok for the price I suppose and it folds which was the main reason we went for this one.

Product actually better than I expected for the price
The commode chair arrived in super fast time. I was a bit dubious as to how a decent commode could be bought for the price but fear not - the commode is really stable, has locking levers at the side so it won't fold up by accident. The pail has fairly short runners but with a stop at the front so it would be unlikely to drop out. I think the actual product looks better than the photo! Great to have it able to fold so it can go up in the loft later on. Very satisfied all round.

Firstly it arrived so quickly, we were desparate for this item to be here by a certain date for use by my brother in law who has suffered a massive stroke and needs support to sit on the loo so chose this one as its arms were strong and supportive, we ordered late friday evening and it was delivered on the sunday morning, Fantastic service......., it was really sturdy and really easy to set up and fold down again, and our brother in law was really happy to use it. full marks on such a wonderful item of equipment.

it is fit for pupose and sturdy. The pan doesn't have anything to hold it in so could move and this would be interesting!! But was bought for a specific purpose and fitted the bill
