Great mini computer but the wifi reception can be a bit poor
My first Apple computer after converting to the iphone for work. Its a powerful little computer for work related tasks and doesn't disappoint. Easy to set up and use, as you would expect from Apple. I've found that the wifi was slow at first using this machine but after some tinkering, I used an extra eero wifi hub in the same room and now the download speed is quicker and connecting at 5gb. I paid the extra 'Apple tax' money and opted for the 16gb pro model, which is better as I did install windows 11 using Parrallels as I feel it needs the extra memory. Parrallels is a yearly subscription and to be fair isn't great value in my honest opinion. I would say this device isn't for gaming as its not well supported outside the apple eco system. These computers are pricey and there are cheaper alternatives to be had but they are well supported. I've mounted it to the back of my compatible monitor using the hideit mount and supplied screws. This works well for me as it doesn't use up desk space. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07LGGS3RR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Mini size, mighty performance
My iMac is over six years old and cannot accept any further MacOS updates. The Mac mini M2 Pro takes up very little space and has sufficient Thunderbolt and USB sockets for all my needs. I also bought a Dell S3221 QSA monitor to go with it. The curved screen gives me more viewing area than the previous iMac and the height adjustment gives a comfortable platform. The Mac mini is totally quiet, starts up quickly and the new memory performance with silicon architecture means that I can still have several applications open at once without anything crashing. I even run Parallels with Windows 11 for those programs that are not Apple native. A worthwhile upgrade.

If you've got an M1 Mini and are thinking of buying an M2 Pro - this is my experience
Like a lot of people I expect, when a new model of anything comes out, I wonder if it's better to have the new version or is it 'badge engineering?' I've used various Macs for twenty years. I now work from home exclusively. I bought an M1 Mac mini in 2020 when they were first available. I upped the RAM from 8gb to 16gb. I was very pleased with it; it was a leap forward. When I set up a new Mac, I go to the Utilities folder in 'Applications' and drag the icon for 'Activity Monitor' to the dock - I always want to gauge how my Macs are performing. I run Microsoft 365, Daylite CRM, Luminar Neo for photo editing etc. Reviews always seem to benchmark against 8k video editing etc. - something I've never done. With all the apps that I use on a daily basis 'fired up' I use about 10 or 11GB of the available RAM. I've never seen the M1 mini 'swap' anything to the SSD because RAM was full. I managed to get 3 Samsung 28" 4K monitors running on the M1 mini. I bought a Plugable 4K Displayport and HDMI dual monitor adapter - it was fine. The only thing was when I sat down to watch the latest Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ - no image. Apple don't like adapters being present apparently. I'd have to get on hands and knees - disconnect the Plugable adapter - watch what I wanted on Apple TV with the one screen attached via HDMI - then plug it back in again. An annoying 'faff about'. As my work and leisure on the Mac mini M1 had never taxed its 16GB ram, I thought that it wasn't really necessary to go above 16GB RAM on any replacement. The base Mac mini M2 Pro comes with that as standard - also 512MB of storage. I've got a Minisoporu USB hub for the mini (stores it vertically) and put a 2TB SSD in the bottom of it - tons of space, so 512MB in the M2 Pro wasn't a limitation for me. For me, the Mac mini M2 Pro base model has been great. The increase in graphics cores over the M1 is noticeable. I thought the screen images were great with the M1, but they are greater with the M2 Pro. The increase in sharpness, colour handling and speed of change is very satisfying. The ability to plug the three monitors in (four Thunderbolt 4 ports) is great. Two are plugged into the Thunderbolts and one via the HDMI port. On booting, all three burst elegantly into life - sometimes there are minor start up niggles with the display port adapter. For what I use a Mac mini for - I am very pleased with the upgrade to the base M2 Pro. Obviously not a technical term, but it is - not surprisingly - 'snappier' than the M1 and it is very satisfying to sit in front of and do a day's work.

Buying from Amazon was cheaper than the Apple Store!!!
I wanted to buy a Mac mini M2Pro computer and Apple and Curry's - who are my usual source of Macs were both the same price. I noticed one Google hit was Amazon? I buy loads from Amazon, but was surprised to see the Macs were supplied by the Apple Store - but ยฃ100 cheaper. This seemed a bit odd, but Apple rarely are that helpful with price - buy it or leave it, they don't care. So I ordered from amazon and it turned up next day, and I used the ยฃ100 to buy some accessories. The computer of course is just an Apple Computer - so getting going was very simple as usual, and unlike PCs, everything just works. It identified my network, started working and after the usual questions, it was up and running very quickly. No issues whatsoever. With Mac minis, you must remember all you actually get is a computer and a power lead - that is it! I already had a keyboard and a wired mouse - and that is enough to get the computer going. You can add things like non-apple keyboards and mice once the computer is working. You won't get a non-apple mouse to work during setup (or at least, my experience is that it is rare). A cabled mouse and keyboard works fine for initial setup - the Mac asks you to identify the keyboard by pushing the key to the right of the left shift key - this works pretty well, but keep in mind that sometimes this may misidentify your keyboard - it did on mine and the @ and the " symbols get reversed. Once you're running, again, this is something you can address if it annoys you. I really like the computer - I've got quite a few Macs, ancient and modern iMacs, MacBooks and now a Mac mini - which I use in my recording studio. Buying it was a stab in the dark, but it went very smoothly.

Beast of a pc
I didn't expect this computer to be so efficient, silent and fast. Perfect for my uni work and design hobbies. The only thing is it is a headache to update the software. It isn't the machine's fault, but Apple. Currently trying to update to sequoia but it wouldn't let me do it through conventional means. The only reason for the bump down in rating. Oh and this computer is SMALL. As in I couldn't believe how tight it could fit in my accom room and still deliver like a beast.

You all know its good but expensive
not worth the price, stick to microsoft devices, i only bought it for logic pro, not all high class monitors work with it. apple have its own measurments and guideleines for moniters. nice way to waste money. its very silent, powerful, i bought 16 g RAM, 8GB RAM always in use even with one window open for gmail. no trouble in video edit in 5k, very fast for a common man. off course pros and cons between windows and apple OS. if you have money buy it. both ram and ssd shouldered, must read reviews about failing ssd after 5 years in apple products.

Quiet and powerful
Originally, I was waiting for M3 Pro Mini but it looked like there is hardly any noticeable improvement in M3 Pro over M2 Pro when it comes to a desktop apart from some more GPU power which I don't really care (I use my 4090 PC if I need a graphical power). Mini is a quiet and powerful machine with an affordable price. It is my daily driver for coding and general computing needs. Unless you need portability, there is no reason to go for overpriced Macbooks. Overall, happy with my purchase.
