Parrallels is a yearly subscription and to be fair isn't great value in my honest opinion. I would say this device isn't for gaming as its not well supported outside the apple eco system. A worthwhile upgrade. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you've got an M1 Mini and are thinking of buying an M2 Pro - this is my experience *by S***N on 24 May 2023* Like a lot of people I expect, when a new model of anything comes out, I wonder if it's better to have the new version or is it 'badge engineering?' I've used various Macs for twenty years. I now work from home exclusively. I bought an M1 Mac mini in 2020 when they were first available. I upped the RAM from 8gb to 16gb. I was very pleased with it; it was a leap forward. When I set up a new Mac, I go to the Utilities folder in 'Applications' and drag the icon for 'Activity Monitor' to the dock - I always want to gauge how my Macs are performing. I run Microsoft 365, Daylite CRM, Luminar Neo for photo editing etc. Reviews always seem to benchmark against 8k video editing etc. - something I've never done. With all the apps that I use on a daily basis 'fired up' I use about 10 or 11GB of the available RAM. I've never seen the M1 mini 'swap' anything to the SSD because RAM was full. I managed to get 3 Samsung 28" 4K monitors running on the M1 mini. I bought a Plugable 4K Displayport and HDMI dual monitor adapter - it was fine. The only thing was when I sat down to watch the latest Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ - no image. Apple don't like adapters being present apparently. I'd have to get on hands and knees - disconnect the Plugable adapter - watch what I wanted on Apple TV with the one screen attached via HDMI - then plug it back in again. An annoying 'faff about'. As my work and leisure on the Mac mini M1 had never taxed its 16GB ram, I thought that it wasn't really necessary to go above 16GB RAM on any replacement. The base Mac mini M2 Pro comes with that as standard - also 512MB of storage. I've got a Minisoporu USB hub for the mini (stores it vertically) and put a 2TB SSD in the bottom of it - tons of space, so 512MB in the M2 Pro wasn't a limitation for me. For me, the Mac mini M2 Pro base model has been great. The increase in graphics cores over the M1 is noticeable. I thought the screen images were great with the M1, but they are greater with the M2 Pro. The increase in sharpness, colour handling and speed of change is very satisfying. The ability to plug the three monitors in (four Thunderbolt 4 ports) is great. Two are plugged into the Thunderbolts and one via the HDMI port. On booting, all three burst elegantly into life - sometimes there are minor start up niggles with the display port adapter. For what I use a Mac mini for - I am very pleased with the upgrade to the base M2 Pro.
