After having several a-z index books fall to pieces on me, I decided to go back to the old fashioned way and use index cards. This strong container is much more durable and index cards are easier to maintain.

I have used these boxes,or similar,for some years and they are ideal for my purposes.However it has become difficult to fid a retailer that always stocks them so I turned to the internet.Delivery was prompt and the service was excellent.I shall probably be ordering again in the future.

Fiddly to put together, box arrives in 2 halves but as long as you careful it is OK. Bit fragile but hopefully if just sits on desk will be fine. Bought for son's revision cards

Good sized index box. Appears to be made from thin plastic, the hinge came off on mine after a couple of uses but was easy to fix. Worth it for the price.

Really useful size for larger non standard cards containing information. Used mine for storing University library book referencing details during my course.

As with other items on this order it was left with a workman doing work on my drive. He forgot to give it me when I returned and I found it next morning after overnight rain. Outer packaging was very wet but as the boxes are plastic they had not suufered and a dry cloth put them right. Exactly what I wanted and in use.

Used for study noes but the lid is becoming loose after a month

They are boxes for cards and they hold cards.Top and bottoms are identical except for the label on the top.If you pick the box up carelessly there is nothing to stop the top swinging open and discarding the cards.The black ones could delivered under prime arrangement so I bought those and they did arrive next day and already gave my cards in them. I think I'll be putting rubber bands around them.The box is 5" high and that allows for cards higher than 4 " or separator cards with tallish tabs.Nothing much else to say.Edit 8th July, 2014. Only had the boxes 2 days. The cards I am using in the box are just over 4" high. This means the tabs on the dividers I ordered for the box only show just over a quarter of an inch. I cannot cut the cards smaller in height. So I made my own dividers for subjects with the bought ones to separate sections that only needed one line written on the tabUnfortunately I was too generous and when I closed the box the new home cut dividers were too high the lid would not shut and then crack, I had broken one of the plastic hinges. By the way these hinges do not have a metal pin going through them. They are all plastic - rather like the prongs and holes in a cd case and we all know they aren't very strong. The plastic cases will do their work but with thick rubber bands keeping the lid and base together when closed.Edit 15th July. The undamaged box was on the floor I accidentally tapped it with my foot and it fell over. The lid opened and the contents moved and both hinges just snapped.I have therefore bought 4 three litre Really Useful boxes off Amazon and by cutting a little off each card at whichever end there was no data or information on them I can fit the cards that fitted in my two card index boxes. Not only that the box is made with head room in the lid. You can put cards or dividers whichever is tallest in the base to a maximum height of 14.5 mm. They will peep over the rim of the base but the lid will fit.The boxes are see-through but if you want the contents to be private just put a blank card at either handle end and a couple of longer pieces of card at the sides. Remember these Really Useful boxes are internally narrower at the bottom than the top of the base.
