It is suitable for use on worktops, kitchen tables and bathroom furniture and can also be applied to cork, stone and terracotta.PREPARATIONEnsure the surface is bare. Remove any wax finishes with Libéron Wax and Polish Remover and any varnish finishes with Libéron Fine Wood Stripper. Clean, dry and ensure the surface is dust-free. If required stain the wood with Libéron Palette Wood Dye before oiling.APPLICATIONShake well before use. Apply a coat of Libéron Finishing Oil using a brush or lint-free cotton cloth. Allow the oil to penetrate for up to 10 minutes then wipe off all the excess with a clean lint-free cloth, before the surface dries enough to become sticky. Allow to dry for a minimum of five hours and apply more coats as required. We recommend a minimum of three coats. The more coats applied the higher the sheen and the more durable the finish will be. For best results gently rub with Libéron Ultrafine Steel Wool (grade 0000) between coats. Furniture items may be finished with Libéron Wax Polish Black Bison for an improved lustre.ADVICEOil finishes bring out the natural colours of timber. A wet surface will be an indication of the final colour. I used wire wool to clean the beechwood block work surface and initially applied the Liberon Finishing Oil with a paint brush. Not very impressive! However, I stuck to my guns and applied a second coat (after light use of wire wool) with a lint free rag (actually an old pair of underpants) and this looked better. A third coat followed and the result was fantastic! A beautiful sheen which caused liquid to bead on the surface. A beautiful deep, rich colour emerged from the wood and the grain was beautifully enhanced. I had been using Ronseal worktop oil which was OK but nowhere near as good in presenting a finish. Ten coats of Ronseal had still not given a sheen. Make sure you read and follow the instructions and you will be as delighted as I was. I gave my surfaces 7 coats and used 000 grade steel wool between each coat. Applied with a lint free cloth to all surfaces. Very high gloss finish. I have used this previously on my oak staircase and it is very hard wearing.
