SmithQuantum MIPS Snow Helmet - Matte White/Charcoal | Large

I'm a Tahoe local, my helmets get more days than your average ski tourist. LOVE this helmet. It's comfortable, I have more of a narrow/long head and it can be tough to get a good fit. I was right on the border of M and L. Went with M and it was the right choice. It is snug/perfect front to back, L would have allowed adjustment front to back but would have been bouncing around side to side. YRMV since you probably have a different shaped head. Boa adjustment is great and overall comfort is nice as well. I've worn the helmet in low 20's up to 50's, just use the vents when things start to heat up.In terms of goggle fit I primarily use Smith 4D Mags so of course the fit is good. But I've also tested them with a number of other goggle brands and they've all been nice. The goggle retainer at the back is SUPER easy to use and stays secure.Looks great, it's not super bulky or awkward like some helmets can be. I attached a pic that shows this and goggle fit with the 4D Mag.On paper the only downside to this helmet is weight. It weighs more than other premium lids. In practice though I can't tell any difference. I've literally NEVER got done with a day on the mountain and thought "Man I wish I had a lighter helmet!" Non-issue IMO.I guess the other con could be price, this isn't a cheap helmet but you get what you pay for. All day comfort, great venting, great goggle fit, MIPS. This is the best helmet I've worn and worth the money, no question.

I am now on the Quantum after many years of using the Smith Vantage helmet. The Quantum fits my head very well, and it is very comfortable! The BOA adjustment system allows for me to put in the thicker or thinner helmet liner beanies I use. This helmet works very well with the Anon M4 goggles too. I love the sliding vent feature to let some air in for Spring skiing too! All in all, Five Star Helmet!

A helmet is a helmet, but, as far as helmets go, this one is good.I bought it because I wanted the best protection I could buy. I went to a large resort with some friends that had a bunch of kids. I noticed that all the kids helmets had the same safety systems (e.g., MIPS) that the Quantum had. It has more vents than any other helmet I have seen but I don't usually get too hot to need them.Overall, it's a cool helmet you don't usually see others wearing and it has all the latest safety tech, but you can get the same security from a much cheaper model.

I have kind of a big head, this helmet fit me perfect! I love the added vents! They match up perfect with the smiths mag goggles!

Great helmet but yeah the color shown is WAY off. It is a very light green like others have said. I still like it and am keeping it, just know it’s not the forest green that’s in the picture

Just got the helmet, so haven’t tested it out yet. The fitment is great though, and it is very lightweight. The coloring is a great combo, and the helmet has awesome quality overall. The adjustable vent system (separate intake and exhaust vents that open/close) functions great and I expect it to keep me as cool/warm as I need given the conditions that day. The chin strap clicks in super easy and feels very secure, while the adjustable BOA-style system allows the helmet to fit your head perfectly.

I'm not one to leave reviews online, but this one got to me. This helmet is nice, but after 2 attempts; the zipper that holds in your tech gear is a real pain to open and close..and then it opens up where it creases during use or even just after closing. The zipper is poor quality and your tech gear is at risk to fall out or get wet. Also, for those that may have a fuzzy thumb on their gloves for whipping off your wet goggles, be warned that the material could possibly stain the matte finish. I found out the hard way, totally weird; but non the less true.

Great helmet and super comfortable. Was a little expensive for a ski helmet but I think it was worth it.

This helmet is great ski helmet.This helmet has extra protection using mips technology.The helmet is very comfortable great ear pads, fit very well with my anon and Oakley goggles, no helmet gap The helmet has plenty ventilation vents which can be opened or closed. veste una taglia in piu rispetto ad oakley Mod5, ho sempre avuto caschi M che mi era stretto e ho reso e preso L. Comodissimo il laccetto magnetico e la costruzione a nido d ape oltre ad ammortizzare fa respirare tantissimo la testa. Caro ma consigliatissimo
