Gauze pads
They worked well for me. Did not hard stick to the wounds, so didn't have to dampen them to remove.I shop a lot for gauze pads lately reviews of some kinds called into question the 'sterility' of gauze pads made in Chine. But I had no problems with these.

THESE ARE NOT PADS. THEY ARE SHEETS OF 2×2 GAUZE.3 OR 4 OF THESE WOULD NEED TO BE ADDED TOGETHER TO BE CALLED A PAD.
