While It does smell I find it does work well
I have been trying to grow organic vegetables and fruits I find this stuff works well. I have been putting two handfulls in to a 2 gallon bucket filling with water and leave standing overnight pour water off and use to water plants both in pots and in the ground. It seems to work well. If it’s scattered over the ground it needs rain to wash it into the soil. I planted a flowerpot next to my plants around 1 foot away and' fill with water this way the water goes under the plant encouraging the roots to grow deeper.
