Good, Comfortable Earplugs
These are quite expensive, but they are the best earplugs I've used yet, for me at least. They have a little breather hole, which seems to aid in comfort and stops my ears from feeling clammy when I wake up. They don't penetrate too deep into the ear canal, unlike some others I've had.You can cut away some of the green rubber stalk if it is too long- I find a scalpel worked well, allowing me to take just enough off that it didn't press against my pillow and irritate, but still had enough material for me to be able to grip to pull them out of my ears.I find that they last about 9-12 months before they start feeling (and looking) a bit manky, which isn't bad, I suppose. I do wash them every now and then, which probably helps.I can easily hear my alarm going off in the morning, so there's no danger of sleeping through. My only complaint is that I'd like them to dampen sound more- they certainly take the edge off any noise, but I'm a very light sleeper and it isn't always enough.

Love these earplugs and the peace and calm that ensues
Love these earplugs and the peace and calm that ensues.. These are my second pair, and I've already recommended these to friends and family who are so grateful for these. The previous pair lasted me nearly 2 years and I used them nearly every night as our flat was next to a busy road and I am a light sleeper. Understandably after such heavy use the rubber (or whatever other material it is) slit a bit. The only reason I haven't given a full 5 star rating is as these ones seem to be slightly smaller than my first pair and I feel that as a result they don't fit as snugly as the previous ones used to. I still love them and would buy again once these ones need replacing.

Not the holy grail of sound mitigation for a sleepful night..
Well, if you are hoping to eliminate the horrendous snoring noise from your partner then you are going to be disappointed. At best these ear plugs will take the edge off a noise but not mitigate the noise to any great degree. They are handy for eliminating shallow noises such as breathing but anything else will still be heard loud and clear. Somewhat naively I thought these would be some form of panacea to blocking out all and any noise but they do not work for anything more than a whisper. At one point I twisted right into my lug holes in case I was doing something wrong but no difference in sound blocking and they became *extremely* uncomfortable so even there were any sound reduction benefits they would have been outweighed by the pain on having these things stuck half way down your ear canal.I can't recommend these I'm afraid but looking at the other reviews it suggests other people are having more luck than me, go figure.

Use them on a temporary basis
These work great on a temporary basis only as they become very difficult to clean if you use them nightly. Other than that, they are comfy and definitely block out almost all noise.

Seems to work
To be honest I have had enough of wearing these earplugs, but it's either that or get woken up multiple times every night by next door's babies horrific, blood-curdling screams. Not to mention their constantly chattering parents who seem capable of neither lowering the volume of their voices nor refraining from slamming doors/bumping around at 6am, even on a weekend. Bitter? Me? No...If you sleep on your side rather than your back you will find these uncomfortable as they press into your ears. And they're way overpriced; more than a tenner for a couple of rubber bungs that fall apart after a couple of months? Alpine must be laughing.

Close but no silent winner
My partner, bless her soul, snores like an insane noise making machine and, on occasions, I've had to sleep in my spare room. These earplugs, albeit easy to fit and easy to remove (for my fingers), only block out around 60% of the 'snore' noise. Sure, of course, that's better than nothing but still not quite what I thought would happen. They're not that expensive, can cause discomfort when you roll over onto the side that you're wearing them (I only use one as I'm nearly deaf in one ear), but overall it's worth a shot to see how they work for you.

Avoid - go for normal sleep soft with out plus +
I lost one of my normal sleep soft ear plugs, and they were so good I wanted to replace so opted for these as there were a step up. But the rubber part that goes into inter ear was not as did and they don't feel comfortable. But they do work and do block out the noise. But the normal sleep soft were far more comfortable and u didn't even feel them. Not as good as basic sleep soft (without the plus +) in my opinion. Luckily I have found the missing ear plug so I have my original earplugs and will keep these for emergency or guests. I recommend the original sleep soft (without +)- they are amazing

The most comfortable ear plugs ever!
I work a lot of nights so I would say that I am a bit of a dab hand at testing ear plugs! I have tried and failed with numerous cheap (once-only) foam plugs, of which many are useless or just plain uncomfortable - A bit contrary to the cause if you want to sleep!Reluctantly spent a tenner on these, and I can say they are worth every penny. So comfortable and really drown out little annoying and disturbing noises without making you feel like you've lost your hearing. Will be coming with me travelling this summer to drown out people on planes and the hostel snorers!A must buy :)
