Concise and yet comprehensive examination of the key elements of French history from social, political, and economic viewpoints
Having lived in France for 3 years now I was keen to get a better understanding of its history in a concise book. This book met that requirement fully covering the last 1,000 years. The book is quite academic in nature with much insight into the politics, economics, and social circumstances prevailing and impacting the history. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the most recent 300 years. If I had one criticism it would be for me a bit more breakdown and structure for easier review, especially if I was using it for study. I feel really well informed on the subject now.

Excellent X 2!!
An excellent concise history. It has encouraged me to research things that are only briefly touched on. The chapters' chronologies are very useful. I must mention the excellent binding!

Thin read about important country
A very thin read about a very important country. I was appalled at how few pages were devoted to WW1 and WW2. I cannot recommend
