I ordered several rods at the same time, 8 10 and 12. Came packaged nicely in a PVC pipe, so no chance of bending. However this 8x1000mm rod was actually 955mm! Luckily I only need 900mm, but something to keep in mind if you are cutting things fine. 2 inches can make a difference. Also the heavier rods I bought at the same time (12mm) are a little bit mashed up at the end - I guess they are cut with some kind of shear rather than a saw. Those were a bit longer though, so the damage can be cut off. They do all seem to be fairly straight though - good news for the intended use as a linear bearing.
