No washer. must use pipe dope or teflon tape.

Q: Did you receive the correct 1/2” x 1/2” x 1/4” size?

Yes. When I turn off the 1/4" line, the 1/2" line to my kitchen faucet remains unaffected unless I turn the 1/2" cold water supply valve, built into the wall, under the sink, off. You may want to add a 1/4" tee, with a 1/4" to 1/4" valve, after the filter to use as a flush line (If your refrigerator or ice maker doesn't have a water dispenser). When you change filter cartridges, little black charcoal specks come out in the water for the first 5 minutes. You don't want those in your ice cubes.
