The Great Acoustic Guitar Chord Songbook

This really is a great guitar song chord book. I own a few books like this one, and they generally are pretty basic and have a few mistakes in them - or are just not clearly laid out.This book is the exception. It's really clearly laid out. Has some popular around the camp fire songs. Uses correct and sometimes interesting chord progression/changes/choices etc.Really enjoying going through this book. Especially as I'm not proficient at chords and have never really been able to sit down and play popular songs for folk to sing along to.

Plenty of classics to master

I can play reasonably well, know a few chords and can play a bar chord, but I never bothered to learn many songs. Got this book on a Friday and by Sunday I could probably play 10 songs through (songs that I know, but not how to play). Can't vouch for their accuracy but for a living room player and probably a basic busker it's great. I'd like to have some more details on how to play songs which are not just strummed but the clue is in the book title - it's not really for that. Youtube can probably fill in the gaps. If I had had this, or something similar, years ago I would be a much better guitar player now

Not bad

Some years ago I bought the earlier edition called "The Big Acoustic Chord Songbook" which was so good I decided to treat myself for this one and haven't been disappointed as it is excellent value for money and having been improved with the spindle binding which allows you to open the songbook flat whilst playing. Amazon appear to have had this book advertised wrongly as a "German Lanuage Edition" which was not noticed until just after ordering and I was unable to cancel it. I was a bit miffed and ready to return it when it arrived and opened it all was well.

Over 100 varied songs to choose from, one or two using a capo or adjusting the tuning. I am very much a novice, but have been able to understand and get started on some really good tunes using the tabs shown. Really like there are lyrics as well. Good it is ring bound, easy to turn pages. Am taking lessons which is helping me understand the more advanced chords/changes to master. Can recommend this to a patient beginner or a more advanced player, as the range of songs are suitable for both. Really love this book !

I got a copy of this to use at singing lessons. It's amazing value for money. It has a ton of songs in it. It has songs for both male and female singers, although I would say more songs originally done by male artists. This doesn't really matter though if you are able to transpose music into a different key to suit your range. This book was so popular my singing teacher also went and bought a copy. Looking forward to checking out other books in the series.
