HP Pen

Great pen for HP ENVY x360. Did not want to risk getting any other pen like the Bamboo where people have had hit or miss experience. I looked this PEN up on the HP website and knew it was compatible. For what it is, it works well with Windows Ink and you are able to draw fairly well with it on the HP laptop in tablet mode. There was no pairing or anything involved, the HP laptop instantly recognized it and you are on your way to write an draw. The HP laptop does not have the 4,000+ pressure sensitivity found on the Surface Pro but it still works very well. I love the pen and actually have two of them for both of HP ENVYs. I guess it makes people "envious"!

The pen is everything I wanted. it is my third try at a pen to work with my HP Envy X360 I-13 model 15-ed. I did not even have to calibrate it or Bluetooth just turn it on and it works amazing!!! it is the best pen and no charging is required it works off of batteries. I cannot stress enough this pen is absolutely everything!!!!!! don't buy the off-brand because it is $10 cheaper, normally I am all for the bargain and not a name brand person, but in this case, if you really want to write in tablet mode buy this HP pen now!!

It's an HP pen so it does what it's supposed to do with no issues. connects right away and you can start using it with no problems. slick design. extra tip. battery is not hard to find like some other crazy watch looking batteries some other styles have. I thought it could've been a little less expensive but I'm not a heavy user so maybe that's why i say that. fast delivery. came with battery.

Worked great for the first year I had it! I don't know if its normal wear or if I did something wrong, but it has been disconnecting from my computer in the middle of use. I am a veterinary student and I use it to take notes, and I may be in the middle of writing and it stops registering. Have changed batteries, but that is not the issue. Unsure, but I still think it is a great pen and will likely be buying another if this continues

This is an awesome pen! It's responsive, light and versatile. Many apps automatically switch to "ink mode" when the pen is nearby due to the "active" design - hence you can scroll with your finger and write with the pen. I JUST got my first touchscreen computer, so I don't know what all it is capable of but I'm already wishing that I had switched sooner. Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusion over product compatibility, which I'm convinced is intentional on HP's part. If you're not sure whether this is the right accessory for your HP laptop, there are several discussions in the Q/A area on the subject that may help.

This pen is so expensive for what it's worth. The functionality is so inconvenient. Although it connects quickly to my HP laptop, there is no power off or way to pause it. After less than 5 uses, the springs broke and I can now no longer twist the battery in, making it useless.

First and foremost, VERIFY THIS PRODUCT IS COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE WITH HP SUPPORT. I see a lot of complaints on how this didn't work for some devices, that's because there are MANY, let me repeat MAAAAANNNYYYYYYY different variations of the Spectre x360. If you didnt do your homework, the non compatibility is your fault. I have the Spectre x360 13-AP0053XD and I didn't even have to pair them myself, the HP Pen automatically worked without any added effort. My kids lost the HP Tilt Pen that came with my computer, and though this one is cheaper, it works the same. I am very happy with this product.

Updated review: Unless it's used for strictly writing, it's okay. Anything written fast or complicated (drawing), the line will break/skip, constantly, regardless of which program used. It could be either a hardware or software issue. I did change nibs and installed wintab in an attempt to fix this. Neither worked. I had the pen exchanged, same issue. However, when I used a different pen from a different brand, it works great (store display active pen). I tried to speak with HP customer service to make sure if it's not the laptop itself. They gave me a link that explains the difference between "passive" and "active" pen. I already knew this but thanks. Then they gave the list of compatible laptops, which looks like this list hasn't been updated since 2018 or 2017, judging by the age of some of the machines listed. On the sales page of this laptop shown that's it is indeed compatible with this pen, it's listed as one of its recommended accessories. Maybe it's just HP quality control, clueless customer service, who knows. Oherwise, the seller was great.
