Works Great, Mark Your Own Measuring Cup
I just wish it had had a proper measuring cup for the average 1 pound shock bag equivalent in the bucket. I took a one pound shock bag I had remaining and poured it into a measuring cup and marked where it filled to to make the equivalent product. Now I do not need one in the bucket! I could find more to complain about, but frankly the product works great and I should take an oppurtunity now to experiment with the right amount of volume of material to get the desired CL level rather than using, "the one bag after rain, two starting to go green", mantra. This is my first go round bying loose CL for shock rather than the bags which have doubled in price twice since 2020. I figure 100 pound ought to keep me going with my little pool for quite some time. The price is awesome and if I had more use for it I'd have bought a second bucket as a hedge against inflation.

don't get the bucket, get bags instead
product is good, works as intended / expected...i got the 50 lb bucket of it because it's cheaper that way, and will have less plastic bags that can't be recycled / reused... i will not do that again, the smell is so incredibly strong when opening the bucket... but that's a me problem, not a problem with the product...if you're a home owner with 1 pool you're caring for, spend just a little bit more and get the bags

DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUYI have purchased this item four times over the last 2-years. The first pail seemed to be effective as it took nearly a full year to consume. This past year I have consumed 3 pails (150 pounds) and when I get the water tested, the shock is not increasing the total and free Chlorine as it should. I am forever fighting with algae, despite repeated treatments and shock cycles with a product like "Green-Out". I suspect the product is not 65% calcium hypochlorite and there are white particulate that float to the surface and remain undissolvable only to be removed by the skimmer. Finally, over the last 6-12 months, pool clarity is also an issue and I cannot get the particulate levels down despite significantly more backwashing and adding fresh water. I had hoped this more competitive product would have worked, but don't repeat my mistake ... I have spent more for an inferior and ineffective product. The only way a commodity like this can be ineffective in comparison to other brands is that is it likely cut with something to reduce its actual concentration ... chemistry is chemistry.DO NOT BUY.

Does What It Says It Will
I have always used a top name brand from my pool store. This bucket was almost $100 less expensive. From what I can see, it works just as well, if not better than the top tier brand. This is going to be my new "go to" shock.

Clear Water but Packaging Needs Improvement
Clear Water but Packaging Needs ImprovementI used this Aqua Org Plus Pool Shock in my in-ground pool, and it does exactly what it should—clears the water quickly and keeps things sparkling. Each one-pound bag is pre-measured, which makes dosing simple and less messy compared to scooping from a bulk container. I noticed the chlorine strength is strong enough to handle heavy summer use and cloudy water after a pool party. Within a day, the water looked noticeably clearer and more balanced. That said, there are some things to keep in mind. The packaging could be sturdier—some of the bags feel thin and can be prone to tearing if handled roughly, so I stored mine in a plastic bin to avoid leaks. Also, while it’s convenient that each bag is a single pound, I found them a bit difficult to open without scissors.Bottom line: This pool shock is effective and convenient, but the packaging could be more durable. If you don’t mind keeping the bags stored safely, it’s a reliable way to keep pool water clean.Trrriple click

Last Resort Pool Shock - POOR Dissolving, Heavy White Film
Good chlorine content but heavy, cloudy silt that leaves a hard film on surfaces. It dissolves POORLY even with agitation in a bucket. With the calcium, the hardness went up, which is good, sort of. You know that scale you get on your bathroom faucets that needs to be removed with CLR or other chemical? This is what you're getting as a base for the chlorine (that's the C in CLR)It's inexpensive, it does the job, but the particulates and film are a deal breaker. I'd only get this as a last resort. Also, mine arrived in a sealed rectangular plastic pail without any additional lining. One good thing I can say is that it shipped instantly and arrived extremely quickly - over a week ahead of schedule!

Quality at a great price!!
This shock dissolves quickly and doesn’t contain stabilizer which can lead to chlorine “lock”. Container can be difficult to open but not as difficult as some other chlorine containers I’ve had in the past. The really cool thing about this chlorine is that the granules are in a plastic bag within the buckets so you have two opportunities to ensure that the product stays dry and airtight. If you’re new to pools and chlorine, this is important! I made the mistake one year of not ensuring that the container (another brand) was not tightly closed (mainly because it was hard for me to open) and left it in my shed over the winter like that. HUGE mistake. When I went into the shed in the spring, the chlorine smell was AWFUL and worse than that, everything in the shed made of metal was totally corroded. Lesson learned $$$Anyhow, to make reopening the bucket easier, I use the flat end of my corkscrew. Works like a charm. You could probably also use a paint can opener.Price was EXCELLENT, delivery quick and the product works. Enjoy your pool!
